It’s also very open, so they get enough sunlight. The real enemy is the wind. They tried different ways of protecting the plants — planting trees for shelter and building fences — but what they use now for the more delicate plants are glass houses. With several of these they are able to grow plants which would not normally survive in their location. By adapting to the conditions in which they live, Bill and Sally have developed a winning way with their crops. And their experience can serve as a lesson for other growers who experience similar difficulties.
