Dear Jackie, I am terribly sorry to know that you are in bad health because of lack of proper physical exercise. So I am writing to convey my concerns and express my suggestions about physical exercise. It’s generally acknowledged that health comes first for everyone. So as a student, you should attach great importance to exercise. It can benefit us greatly. It not only can refresh the body and keep our mind clear, but contribute to fast and deep sleep. What’s more, we can finish our tasks effectively after exercise. What is the most important is how we can balance exercise and study. As far as I’m concerned, no matter how busy you are, you had better spare at least one hour every day to do various exercise, such as jogging, skipping and playing ball games… I hope my e-mail will help you and look forward to your recovery soon. 第二步:列提纲 (重点词组) be in bad health(身体欠佳);convey my concerns(表达关心);express my suggestions(提出建议);health comes first for everyone(对每个人来说健康第一);attach great importance to exercise(重视锻炼);keep our mind clear(保持头脑清醒);fast and deep sleep(熟睡);balance exercise and study(平衡锻炼与学习)、spare at least one hour every day to…(每天至少用一小时时间去做……)

Once, I got lost on a trip. Then I met an old lady and asked me the way.

The lady told me, “Turn left from here until a school, and then turn right from there. Go straight on and you find a place with a crossing...” With that, the old lady thinks for a while and then she said,“ When you get there. you are not far away from the place which you live. At that time you'd better to ask someone else. Even though I tell you now, you may not remember.”

According to the old lady’s help, I got to a crossing soon. Then I asked a passer-by there and quick turned back to my living place at no time.

Although it was a minor matter, it influenced me greatly. Now I realize our abilities are limit and many of our problems can't be solved overnight. So we must act step by step, gradually approach the destination.

A new study suggests a link between exposure to greenery and reduced desires for alcohol. cigarette and junk food.

The study is the first to investigate the possible relationships between exposure to nature and desires and negative emotions. Researchers at the University of Plymouth’s School of Psychology surveyed 149 respondents (应答者) aged 21 o 65 about the proportion( 比例 )of green space in their neighborhood, the presence of green views from their home, their access to a garden and how often they use public green space. The study also asked questions about experiences with depression and anxiety, as well as desires for things like caffeine, alcohol and nicotine. Participants rated the intensity( 强度), imagery, and intrusiveness(侵扰性) of their desires on an 11-point scale.

Researchers found the presence of visible green space contributed to decreased desires for junk food. The effect was particularly noticeable when more than 25 percent of a respondent’s view was greenery.

Previous scholarship(学术研究) has dealt mostly with exercise in nature: A 2015 study out of the University of Michigan found 90- minute group nature walks were effective at combatting depression and relieving other mood disorders. But for people who struggle with accessibility or don’t have time for a 90-minute walk, this new study suggests just looking out a window at a tree can help fight off a bad habit.

“It has been known for some time that being outdoors in nature is linked to a person's well-being, ” lead author Leanne Martin said in a statement. “ But for there to be a similar association with desires from simply being able to see green space adds a new dimension to the previous research.”

A 2018 study from Denmark’s Aarhus University. for example, found that. Having access to green space throughout childhood decreased a person’s risk of developing mental health problems as an adult.
