Besides that, public facilities such as airports, high-speed railway stations, and big subway stations could install the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED自动体外除颤器), a device that proves effective and easy to use in saving the lives of people suffering heart attacks. For the last month, a married couple has been interacting with a robot—called an Avatar—that’s controlled by their daughter hundreds of miles away. Yet even as the worlds middle classes climb out of the armchair and into economy-class seats, there are hints of a post-travel society coming. And the aging of wealthy societies is both limiting physical travel and creating demand for alternative ways to experience the world.
