You probably love your dog more than you...

You probably love your dog more than you love some humans. The level of love and trust you feel toward your pet is probably not different from what you feel toward any other family member. But is the feeling mutual(相互的)1.

.He/She learns your routines.

Trust is understood differently for humans and animals.

2. So the best way to build a relationship with your dog is to make these routines positive interactions.

.His/Her eyes say it all.

When dogs and their owners stared into each other's eyes during a 30minute period, both of their oxytocin levels increased. Oxytocin has also been called the love hormone and the cuddle(拥抱) hormone.

3. And it is produced when we're around someone we love and trust. This result could mean that the dogs were trying to form bonds with their owners—definitely a sign of trust.

.4.

Typically, dogs sleep in a place that they are comfortable, so sleeping in an owner's room could certainly be an indication of comfort. The environment can affect whether your dog settles down in your room or on your bed. However, you may want to carefully weigh your pros and cons before you invite him/her into your bed.

.He/She doesn't see you angry often.

5. But a study suggested that dogs can read your emotions, and they're less likely to trust you when you're in a bad mood. When dogs saw the negative behavior, they were less willing to search for the treat.

AHe/She sleeps in your room.

BDon't be angry with your dog.

CHe/She enjoys comfortable places.

DIt's normal to get annoyed at your dog.

EHere's how to tell if your dog trusts you.

FIt's used to help mothers bond with their babies.

GPets rely on routines to feel normal and have happy lives.

1.F 2.G 3.E 4.A 5.D 【解析】 本文为说明文,介绍了识别你的宠物狗是否信任你的四种方法。 1.根据空前的问题But is the feeling mutual(相互的)和下面的四个小标题可知,空前应该是一个承上启下的句子,故选E项(下面就是识别你的狗是否信任你的方法)。 2. 下文中的the dogs were trying to form bonds with their owners与F项中help mothers bond with their babies的对应关系亦是提示,故选F项。 4.

I always had the best intentions of packing my lunch, but putting this healthy habit into practice was a different story. I was always jealous when I would see my coworkers with their cute food containers full of fresh ingredients(食材). Occasionally, I would be inspired to have a productive Sunday afternoon when I would cook my favorite food, but once Wednesday passed, I would be back on the street, trying to figure out what sounded good to eat.

However, to form the habit of packing my lunch is not an easy thing. At first, the idea of packing my lunch felt like a sacrifice, but since I started bringing healthy food to work, I have not given it up. I'm able to bring foods that are rich in fiber and protein, and I avoid ingredients that make my blood sugar rise sharply. This was the big kicker for me to keep this healthy habit for good.

Portion(份量) control has always been a big issue for me. If there is food on my plate, I'm going to eat it. By packing my own lunch, I'm easily able to manage portions and know my ingredient choices. Eating a cleaner and lighter lunch not only supports my general weight loss goals, but it also makes space for the occasional weeknight dinner out that I can enjoy freely.

When developing my budget for 2017, I made a point to get real about the large expenses I did not even realize. Until I looked at my credit card statement, I had no idea how much money I was spending on my lunch every week. It's hard in the big city to find something that's fresh, nutritious, and filling for under $10.That's $50 a week I could be saving…Quite a sum of money, isn't it?

October 15th is the Global Handwashing Day. Activities are planned in more than 20 countries to get millions of people in the developing world to wash their hands with soap. For example, donators(捐赠者) will give 150,000 bars of soap to schools in Ethiopia.

Experts say people around the world wash their hands every day, but very few use soap at so-called important moments. These include after washing the toilet, after cleaning a baby and before touching food.

Global Handwashing Day is the idea of the Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing with Soap. Partners include the United Nations Children’s Fund, American government agencies, the World Bank and soap makers Unlever and Procter and Gamble. The organizers say all soaps are equally effective at removing disease-causing germs(细菌). They say the correct way to wash is to wet your hands with a small amount of water and cover them with soap. Rub(揉搓) it into all areas, including under the fingernails. Rub for at least twenty seconds. Then rinse well under running water. At last, dry your hands with a clean cloth or wave them in the air.

The Partnership for Handwashing says soap is important because it increases the time that people spend in washing hands. Soap also helps to break up the dirt that holds most of the germs. And it usually leaves a pleasant smell. The Partnership for Handwashing also says washing with soap before eating or after using the toilet could save more lives than any vaccine(疫苗) or medicine. Hand washing could also prevent the spread of other diseases. When people get germs on their hands, they can infect(感染)themselves by touching their eyes, noses or mouths. Then they can infect others.

B.why washing hands with soap is so important
