1.C 2.B 3.C 【解析】 【原文】 Did you know that NASA, the U.S. space agency, keeps track of global temperatures? Climate records have been kept since 1880, and are collected from devices floating in the ocean, from research stations, and from ships’ reports. All of the information is publicly available, but NASA analyzes the numbers and produces a monthly report. According to the latest NASA report, the last three Octobers have been the hottest ever measured. October 2015 was the very hottest, measuring at 1.07 degrees Celsius higher than the normal October temperature. October 2016 was the second warmest, measuring only 0.18 degrees Celsius cooler than the year before. Even though the top ten record-breaking temperatures for October happened after the year 2000, NASA states that monthly ratings are not as important as long-term changes in temperature. Why does NASA need to analyze the data that is already available? Despite evidence of global warming, from early bird migration to melting ice caps, it is important to understand how human activity affects the temperature. NASA analyzes the data by correcting errors, adjusting for warmer temperatures in large cities, and comparing numbers within geographical zones. Their analysis means that the data is more trustworthy and represents a true picture of temperature changes, both in terms of area and time.
