Every year in English-speaking countries, people list the most popular names. Here are some examples. In the United States at the moment, the three most popular names are Emily, Emma, and Madison. For boys, they are Michael, Joshua and Mathew. In Britain parents today might call their little girl Grace, Jessica or Ruby. If they have a little boy, they could call him Jack, Thomas or Oliver.
In China names have very clear meanings. If a girl is called Mei, her name means “beautiful”. If a boy is called “Wu”, his name means “ like a soldier”. Do you know what school life is like in Singapore? In Singapore, a class only lasts half an hour, but there are no breaks between classes. The students only have a 30-minute tea break after 3 or 4 classes.
They do not do eye exercises. Yao Suyu said our eye exercises were unfamiliar(不熟悉)to her. “I’d like to introduce them to our school,” she said. “They’re very useful!”
