As space science develops, man has learned more and more about space. Space is not only amazing but also dangerous. While working in space, spacemen are facing danger as well as success.
Scientists have found out that radiation (辐射) is the greatest danger to spacemen 'in space. When spacemen are working in space, they are in danger of radiation from the sun and other stars, which is bad for their health. The damage (危害) done by radiation won't be discovered until their children or even grandchildren are born. Some special medicine may work a little, but no really helpful medicine has been found so far.
Space rubbish is also thought a great danger to spacemen. It's reported that there are 9, 000 man-made things flying in space. About 300% of these are satellites (卫星) , 10% are spaceships, and the rest are space rubbish. An explosion (爆炸) in 1996 made a cloud of 300, 000 fragments (碎片), each at least 4mm in size, and even a small piece of these knocked against a spaceship window and did some damage. Scientists are watching and reporting any possible danger all the time. They are working to deal with space rubbish.
Although space is really dangerous, it interests everyone on the earth. In the near future, it may become usual for people to spend a few days in a space hotel. We may even choose to leave the earth and live in space in a few years. So we should care for space and do something to help improve the space environment

You may hear about earthquakes, but do you know what to do before, during and after an earthquake? Here is some advice for you:
Before an earthquake It is necessary to prepare yourself and your family. All family members should know how to turn off gas, water and electricity and know useful telephone numbers ( doctor, hospital, police and 119 etc.). Never put heavy things over beds.
During an earthquake It is important for each of you to stay calm. If you are indoors, quickly move to a safe place in the room such as under a strong desk or table. The purpose is to protect yourself from falling things. Stay away from windows, large mirrors, heavy fumiture and so on. If you are cooking, turn off the gas. If you are outdoors, move to an open area like a playground. Move away from buildings, bridges and trees. If you are driving, stop the car as soon as possible, staying away from bridges and tall buildings, stay in your car.
After an earthquake ONCE the shaking has stopped, DO NOT run out of the building at once. It is better to wait and leave when it is safe. Check around you and help the people who are in trouble. If your building is badly broken, you should leave it. If you smell or hear gas, get everyone outside and open windows and doors. If you can do it safely, turn off the gas. Report it to the gas company.

"My dear dad, where are we going?" This has become the most popular question recently. It's a line from the theme song of Hunan TV station's reality show Where Are We Going, Dad?
"All of my classmates are big fans," said NingYun, 14, from Guangxi. "On Fridays, we remind each other: don't forget to watch it tonight! "
In the show, five pairs of fathers and kids go to strange places and finish interesting tasks. It's all about growing up. Fathers learn to cook and comfort their kids. The kids learn about teamwork and being independent (独立). Yet, growing up needs courage. In the show, 4-year-old Kimi finds it hard to finish his work alone. "When I saw Kimi looking for his dad, I burst into tears," said Chen Yufang, 13, from Guangxi. "It reminded me of my first night at the school dormitory (宿舍). I really felt the pain of growing up that night. "
When people see the fathers trying to help their kids, it also hits a soft spot in their hearts.
Tian Xiaofeng, 14, from Jiangsu, said his father is like Guo Tao in the program. "He is strict. And I was sad about it," he said. But now he sees it in a different way. "Guo Tao's son looks determined. I think his parenting style works. And I guess my father just wants me to be like that," he said.
On the journey of life, kids learn to grow up and adults learn to be better parents.
Maybe we can plan a trip with our parents.
Shall we go?

Dear Jenny.
How is it going? Are you busy with your study these days?
I've been back at school nearly four weeks. I am very glad to tell you that great have taken place in our school this term. First of all, we are aked to "clean our plates" when having our meals and say to waste. Some of us used to order more than what we could eat. That was a big waste of food and money. Now we need to the food we order.
We should also stop wasting in some other ways. For example, we should turn off the lights when we the classroom. And our school has opened up some for us to learn how to grow vegetables. Each class is given a small garden and our class has to grow some tomatoes and beans in our spare time. I think it'll be very interesting. Maybe I'II be able to you some beans we've grown next time.
What's more, we have only two classes in the afternoon we have more time for after-school activities. I am one of the traffic safety volunteers in our school. After school, we take turns asking people in the streets near our school to the traffic rules.
I think our school life is now improving! Please write back soon and tell me more about your school.
Yours truly,
Wang Wei
