How times flies! We have spent three years in the school. I am very sad that I have to say goodbye to you all. Looking back,I've learned much in the past three years. I have learned how to play football. I have made many good new friends in school. But my biggest gain is that I have improved my English a lot. I can get an A in the English exam now. What's more, I can speak with others in English fluently. That makes me very happy. In these three years, our teachers worked hard and took good care of us. All the students studied very hard and we got on well with each other. I hope we can keep in touch with each other all the time and our friendship will last forever. I have also learned that it is our parents who love and care about us most. So we should respect them. Not only should we work hard at our lessons, but we should do what we can to help them with housework. 全文共有3个段落,包含了所有提示内容,并有适当发挥; 这篇短文使用了大量的固定句式和短语,为文章增色不少,如: How times flies“时光飞逝”, Looking back“回首往昔”,What's more“甚至”, get on well with“与人相处和睦”,keep in touch“保持联系”,not only …but also…“不仅……而且……”等等;3、一些名词性从句的运用也让文章质量提高一个档次,如:表语从句But my biggest gain is that I have improved my English a lot.“但是我最大的收获是我的英语提高了很多”,定语从句的强调句型I have also learned that it is our parents who love and care about us most.“我也认识到是我们的父母最爱和最关心我们”,还用到了倒装句Not only should we work hard at our lessons, but we should do what we can to help them with housework.“我们不仅要努力学好功课,而且还应该力所能及的帮他们做家务”。 考点:提纲作文

My mother used to ask me what is the most important part of the body. Through the years I would guess at what I thought was the correct answer.

When I was younger, I thought sound was very important to us as humans, so I said, “My ears, Mommy.”

She said, “No. Many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon.”

Several years passed before she asked me again. Since making my first attempt, I had thought about the correct answer. So this time I told her, “Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes.”

She looked at me and told me, “You are learning first, but the answer is not correct because there are many people who are blind.”

Then last year, my grandpa died. Everybody was crying. Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final good-bye to Grandpa. She asked me, “Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear?”

I was shocked when she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game between her and me. She said, “This question is very important. It shows that you have really lived your life.” I saw her eyes well up with tears. She said, “My dear, the most important body part is your shoulder.”

I asked, “Is it because it holds up your head?”

She replied, “No, it is because it can hold the head of a friend or loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometimes in life, my dear. I only hope that you have enough love and friends that you will have a shoulder to cry on when you need it.”

From then on, I knew the most important body part is not a selfish one. It is sympathetic(有同情心的) to the pain of others.

1.When did the writer understand her mother’s question?

2.Why did the girl’s mom ask her that question?

3.Is talking about that question a game between the girl and her mother?

4.Did the writer’s mother cry when her grandpa died?

5.What is the most important body part?

The world is not hungry , but it is thirsty . It seems strange that nearly 3/4 of the earth is covered with water while we say we are short of water. Why? Because about 97% of water on the earth is sea water which we can't drink or use for watering plants directly. Man can only drink and use the 3% - the water that comes from rivers and lakes. And we can't even use all of that, because some of it has been polluted .

Now more water is needed. The problem is: Can we avoid (避免) a serious water shortage later on? First, we should all learn how to save water. Secondly, we should find out the ways to reuse it . Scientists have always been making studies in the field. Today, in most large cities water is used only once and then runs to the sea or rivers . But it can be used again. Even if every large city reused its water, still there would not be enough. What could people turn to next?

The sea seems to have the best answer. There is a lot of water in the sea. All that needs to be done is to get the salt out of the sea water. This is expensive, but it's already used in many parts of the world. Scientists are trying to find a cheaper way of doing it. So you see, if we can find a way out, we'll be in no danger of drying up.

C. 97% of the earth is covered with water.

D. 3% of water on the earth is sea water.

3.From the passage we learn _________.

A. if every city reuses its water, we'll be in no danger of drying up

B. man can only drink and use about 25% of water on the earth

C. today in most large cities water is used only once

D. water can be used only once

4.To avoid the serious water shortage , which of the following is the most important?

A. Save water and try to make good use of the water in rivers and lakes.

B. Don't pollute water and keep all rivers and lakes clean.

C. Make dirty water clean and then reuse it.

A thousand years ago, Hong Kong was covered by a thick forest. As more and more people came to live in Hong Kong, these trees were cut down and burnt.  Now there is no forest left, though there are still some small areas covered with trees. We call these woods.

Elephants, tigers and many other animals were living in the thick forest. When people came to live in Hong Kong, the animals began to die out. Early farmers grew rice and kept pigs and chickens in the valleys. They cut down the trees and burnt them. They needed fire to keep themselves warm in winter, to cook their food and to keep away the dangerous animals. Elephants quickly disappeared because there was not enough food for them. Many other animals soon died in the same way.

You might think that there are no longer any animals in Hong Kong except in 2005. But there are still about 36 different animals living there. One of the most interesting of Hong Kong’s animals is the barking deer. These are beautiful little animals with a rich brown coat and a white patch under the tail. They look like deer but they are much smaller. They are less than two feet high. They make a noise rather like a dog barking. In Hong Kong the barking deer has only a real enemy—— men. People hunt these little animals though it is illegal, There are now not many barking deer left. So it is important for people to protect wild animals.
