提示词:walk a dog(遛狗),the rubbish bin(垃圾箱)

Mrs. Jackson was walking her dog in the park. She ate a banana and threw the skin on the ground. Suddenly, her dog ran away. What would it do? Mrs. Jackson was very surprised and then she saw that the dog caught the banana skin and threw it in the rubbish bin! Even a dog can do that. As a human being, we didn’t do that! Mrs. Jackson felt red on her face. The banana skins make the earth dirty. Always remember to put rubbish in the bins. Everyone should protect our earth. Mrs. Jackson was walking her dog in the park、Mrs. Jackson was very surprised and then she saw that the dog caught the banana skin and threw it in the rubbish bin、Always remember to put rubbish in the bins.

(C)The earth is not only, but also thirsty for water. This may seem strange to you. because nearly 70% of the earth’s surface(表面)is covered with water. But about 97% of that is sea water, or salt water. Man can only use the other 3%—the fresh water from rivers, lakes, and other sources. And we can’t even use all of that, because some of it is in the form of icebergs and glaciers(冰川). Even worse, some of it has been polluted.

However, as things stand today, the fresh water is still enough for us. But our need for water is becoming larger and larger quickly—almost day by day. We should take steps to do with this problem now and in this way we can get away from a serious world-wide water shortage later on.

We all have to learn how to stop wasting our valuable water, one of the first step is to develop ways of reusing it. Today in most large cities, water is used only once and then sent out into a sewer system(下水道), from there it returns to sea or runs into underground (地下)places.

But even if every large city reused its water, we still would not have enough. All we’d have to do to make use of sea water in the world is to remove the salt.

(B) What are you going to do if you are in a burning house?

Escaping(逃离) a fire is a serious matter. Knowing what to do during a fire can save yourself. It is important to know the ways you can use and to show them to everyone in the family, such as stairways (楼梯) and fire escapes, but not lifts(电梯).

From the lower floors of the building, escaping through windows is possible, learn the best way of leaving through windows with the least chance of serious injury (伤害).

The second floor windows are usually not very high from the ground. An average (普通的) person, hanging by the finger-tips will have a drop of about six feet to the ground. It is about the height of an average man. Of course, it is safer to jump a short way than to stay in a burning building.

Windows are also useful when you are waiting for help. Be sure to keep the door closed, or smoke and fire may be drawn into the room. Keep your head low at the window to be sure you get fresh air rather than smoke that may have leaked (渗入) into the room.
