One possible version: The students of our class have different ideas about whether we ask teachers for help with homework problems. Those who prefer to ask teachers for help think that teachers can explain clearly, and it will be a good chance to communicate with teachers. However, some disagree. On one hand, they are too shy to ask teachers for help. On the other hand, they are afraid to be laughed at by others. As for me, I wouldn't like to ask teachers for help, for they are too busy, so I don’t want to bother them. And I think searching online for the answers is a good way as well. It's easy and saves time. On one hand...On the other hand...;be afraid to;as well 等。 考点:提纲作文。

任务型阅读(10分)

Some people believe that your nationality can influence your personality(个性). This is why you might hear someone saying "She is a typical (典型的) Australian" or "He is so French". It seems that people from a certain country share certain similar characteristics(特征).

French

French people are often seen as romantic and outgoing people with a great love for life, food and wine. They are good at singing and dancing.

Chinese

Chinese are friendly people who are hard-working. They are polite because they are careful about "saving face" when dealing with other people.

Australians

Australians are merry people who spend a lot of time outdoors. They enjoy a slower life. They laugh a lot but sometimes people think they are loud and rude.

Germans

Germans are often described as being serious and careful. They are hard workers and pay a lot of attention to details. However, sometimes people say Germans have no sense of humour.

All these national types can be true for some people, but very wrong for others. For example, youmight meet a German who is a confident singer with a great sense of humour, or an Australian who is shy and quiet!

Have you ever had an embarrassing experience? Last week we asked readers to tell us about embarrassing experiences. We received thousands of letters! Here is a selection.

Tony:

My most embarrassing experience happened when I had just left university. I had just started teaching in a Liverpool middle school. One morning my alarm clock didn’t ring. I woke up at half past eight and school began at nine. I quickly washed, dressed, jumped into my car and rushed to school. When I arrived, the students had already gone into class. I didn’t go to the office, but went straight into class. After two or three minutes the students began laughing, and I couldn’t understand why! Suddenly I looked down and understood. I had put on one black shoe and one brown shoe!

Henry:

The most embarrassing experience I’ve ever had happened two years ago. After seeing a film, my wife and I had lunch in our favorite restaurant in town. Then we decided to take a walk along the street. The street was very busy and we started holding hands. Suddenly my wife saw a dress that she liked in a shop window, and stopped. I started looking at some watches in the next window. After a minute or two I reached for my wife’s hand. There was a loud scream, and a woman slapped my face. I hadn’t taken my wife’s hand. I’d taken the hand of a complete stranger(陌生人)!

Many fans even waited overnight outside some Apple stores, hoping to be the first to get one. Dozens of the people were waiting before the door opened at 9:00 a.m. Hiro Kishimoto, a Japanese computer researcher who had a meeting in San Francisco, came as early as 5:00 a.m. He wanted to read books and magazines with the iPad.  " It's much more comfortable than a laptop(手提电脑).
