A young man went to visit a wise man who lived deep in the mountain. He wanted to ask for wisdom (智慧) of life.
“Excuse me! Could you tell me what is the most important day in our lives? Is it the day were born or the day we die? Is it the day we fall in love or the day we are successful?” the young man asked.
“None. The most important day in our lives is today.” the wise man replied calmly.
“Why?” the young man was very surprised. “Is it because there is some unusual event taking place today?”
“No. Nothing has happened today.”
“So is it because of my visit?”
“Even if nobody visited me today, today is still very important, because today is the only wealth(财富) we have. No matter how important yesterday is, it has gone by; 3 no matter how wonderful tomorrow may be, it hasn't come; no matter how ordinary and boring today is, it is in our hands.”

Thomas Edison lit up the world with his invention of the electric light. Without him, the world might still be in the dark. However, the electric light was not his only invention. He also invented the motion picture camera and over1,200 other things. About every two weeks he created something new.
Thomas Edison was born in 1847. He attended school for only three months. His mother taught him at home, but Thomas was mostly self-educated. He started experimenting at a young age.

I turned around to find a little old lady with warm smile. She said, “Hi, handsome. My name is Rose. I’m eighty-seven years old.”
