Season two of Where Are We Going, Dad? A reality show on Hunan TV is even more fun and colorful than the first. We’ve been able to watch different kinds of father-son/daughter relationships unfold. This time around we see the families at their most happy and awful moments.
Dad: Huang Lei, 43 Daughter: Huang Yici (Duo Duo), 8 | Huang Lei, among his many jobs—actor, director, singer and lecture—is also a farther. He couldn’t be more patient when it comes to take care of his daughter Duo Duo. As the oldest kid in the show, Duo Duo is smart, thoughtful and wise beyond her years. Together, they’re the pair with the most positive energy on the show.
Dad: Lu Yi, 38 Daughter: Lu Yuxuan (Bei’r), 5 | As the most stylish father in the show, actor Lu Yi certainly knows how to look handsome. We often see him wearing fashionable clothes, and matching outfits with his daughter Bei’r. But as a dad, sometimes his ability is not equal to his willing. Fortunately, Bei’r is an obedient child who behaves well.
| |
Dad: Francis Ng, 53 Son: Feynman Ng, 5 | These two have the traditional father-son relationship, where the father is serious and the son is obeyed by only a glance. “A tough man with a tender heart” is the best way to describe this actor from Hong Kong, especially when we see him giving Feynman encouragement and support. Feynman is s a strong and independent boy who always tries to hold back his tears in front of the camera.
Dad: Yang Wei, 34 Son: Yang Wenchang , 4 | As a father, the former world champion gymnast isn’t as powerful as he was in competition. Yang has showed us his soft, patient and quiet side. Yang’s good life skills make it quite easy for him to look after his son on his own. Yang Wenchang, on the other hand, is a perfect example of the saying “like father, like son”.
Dad: Gary Chaw, 34 Son: Joe Chaw, 5 Daughter: Grace Chaw, 3 | It is the most dramatic group on the show. Malaysian singer Gary Chaw may not be so great at parenting, but he certainly knows how to play with his children. The brother and sister are sweet, bright and lovely. Even Gary Chaw tears up a few times, this are what family is for: Family laughs together, cries together and shares with each other their most memorable moments.

Dear Santa,
Thank you for all of the great gifts you give me this Christmas.
My parents can’t seem to decide whether you gave the presents directly, or if you just helped them and my grandma pick out the right presents. So, if you are advising her, please tell her next year that I do not own a Wii.
I don’t remember asking you for so many pairs of pants, but thank you for giving me the chance to try them on in the front of my whole family. I enjoyed them so much that I continued to wear them, with the tags(商标)still on.
My mom and the holiday movies are always quick to remind me that Christmas isn’t about the presents. It’s about togetherness. But without the presents, there’s nothing to do to fill up this long, long day. So I think Christmas is about the presents, and I’m sure you agree.
If you do, I have some suggestions about ways that you could make the present part of the day last longer: using packing tape to wrap presents instead of Scotch tape(透明胶带). It took, like, ten minutes to open just one present.
My final suggestion is pretty simple: more presents! If it took the whole day to open all of the presents, then I wouldn’t have that terrible time, because my mom says it’s wrong to go play video games in my room, but there’s nothing else to do outside of my room.
Anyway, thank you again and I look forward to seeing you next Thanksgiving. It’s an iTunes gift card for you and hope you like it.
Merry Christmas!

When I was in college, I remember hearing about a book titled “Looking Out for Number One”. I never read the book, but the title has always stuck with me. I hadn’t been taught to be so selfish that I should be focused on only . I thought I needed to be others and, along the way, I would also be helping myself. Now, I realized I have at least considered learning more about looking out for number one.
Jeffrey Gitomer asks the question, “Who is the most person in the world?” Most people answer, the customer. He then asks, if there were only two people left in the world, the and you, who would you want to survive (生存)? Now the answer is me.
It makes me sense that if we can’t help ourselves first, we will never be to help others. We all need to learn to control our lives and make the best for ourselves. That will put us in the position to help others in the . But many of us are to understand this.

That’s all. Thanks for your attention.
Ten years ago, when I was in high school,Mrs. White was my language teacher. One day at lunch time, I was about to eat my cold fish sandwich and she suddenly asked me if she could buy my lunch from me. She explained that I could use the money to buy a hot lunch from the cafeteria(食堂). I was very pleased. I had never thought of going to the cafeteria to buy my lunch like other students. The food at the cafeteria was too expensive for my family.
Kids always complained about the cafeteria food but I really wanted to buy it. When we finished lunch that day, she told me that she was a Catholic and Catholics don’t eat red meat on Fridays --- they eat fish on Fridays. From then on, every Friday Mrs.White bought my fish sandwich and with the money I could buy a hot lunch from the cafeteria.
One year later, I learned from a classmate that Mrs.White was not a Catholic and her family was not rich. She bought my cold sandwich because she saw a little girl that was excited to have a hot lunch. She wanted to help me! I couldn’t help crying. I will never forget her kind heart. I will remember my dear Mrs.White all my life.
