What do we really mean by being open? Being open is a kind of invitation to others to come in, to speak and to share. It’s important to let others get to know how we think and feel. In this way we will be understood and accepted by others. If we aren’t open with others, we won’t fully believe in ourselves or others.
Here are a few ways for you to be more open. First, make your outside behavior the same as your inside feelings and thoughts. Second, share how you really feel about something instead of just opinions. Third, try to change your questions into statements and talk in the first person so that it will be easier for people to understand. For example, you might say, “I feel happy that you’re here.” Instead of “ Are you glad that you’re here ?”
Remember also that it is not suitable to be open with everyone in every situation. You may want to be more open with close friends, but not with people you don’t know well, because you are not sure how someone else will use what they know about you. Besides, some people may not be used to too much openness. If we say everything we feel and think to them, they will feel very comfortable at times.
In all, being open is a good way for us to get on well with other people, we’d better keep the balance between being open and not being too open.

It is often said that the best time in the life of anyone is the time that he spends in school. And the best time of my life came to an end on the 5th of February ,which was my last day at school.
Since it was the day to leave my friends, classmates and teachers, the farewell party(告别会)was heart-breaking. It was time to leave my dear school, where I had spent ten years of my life.
The farewell party took place in the big hall. This was the first time that I hadn’t worn my school uniform in the past twelve years. Though sad, I felt great.
In the beginning, there was the ceremony (仪式)of lighting the lamp (灯). It was lit by the headmaster of our school. This was followed by the students of the 12th class lighting their candles from the big lamp. Then came the students of the 11th class, hosting the party. It included delicious food and drinks. After the party, there was a program of entertainment. Some students sang songs and some danced.
Along with the programs, some of the students collected autographs (签名) of their favorite teachers.
The headmaster and teachers gave speeches in English and Hindi(印度语). Finally, they all wished us great success, not only in the examination, but in life, too.
Then we had our photograph taken together, this continued until it was time for the party to stop. And, by and by, all of us returned home with a sad heart and a lot of memories of our school years.

Success does not belong to a select group of individuals (个人). Success belongs to those who are willing to go after it and try their best to do what they have to do. Here are some useful practical ways for you if you want to be a success.
Desire. Desire is the strong wish to achieve a goal. Without desire you have nothing. Before you can run with desire, your goal must be plain, clear, and it must also be exciting.
Show up. Seventy percent of success in life is showing up. You can’t have a best seller, if you have never written a book. You can’t get your dream job, if you’re afraid to turn in an application. Showing up doesn’t guarantee(保证) success, but if you don’t show up, you won’t succeed.
Fail. Unless you’re willing to have a try, fail unhappily, and have another try, success won’t happen. To have success you have to do things the right way, but often the only way to do something right is to first fail at it. As Thomas J. Watson said, a simple formula (公式) for success is to double your rate of failure (失败). So welcome failure, become a student of failure, learn from failure, and soon you will succeed.
Work Harder. Everyone runs, but everyone is not willing to run for an hour every day. Success is not about doing what the common person can’t do. It’s about doing what the common person is unwilling to do. And on a deeper level, it’s about creating habits that the common person is unwilling to create. It’s the habit of doing things with excellence that causes success.
Enjoy the Journey. Success is a journey, not a destination (终点). Success is not a certain car or a certain house or a certain happy marriage. Success is the enjoyment of the journey. You have to enjoy the journey.
Someone once said, “Unless you change how you are, you will always have what you’ve got.” You have to change, you will change, and you will succeed.
