Mr. Clarke works in New York and brought his family to China. They visited many places of interest and had a good time here. Before they left for Shanghai, the Clarkes climbed up the Great Wall. It was the greatest project about three thousand years ago. They took a lot of photos there and then they had a picnic under a big tree. Suddenly it began to rain and they hurried to the car. And when they returned to the hotel, they couldn't find the bag in which their expensive camera was. They were all sorry for it. They could buy another camera but had no time to go to the Great Wall again. They could not miss the plane!
That evening they didn't have supper. Mr. Clarke hoped to make them happy and said, “Well. Let me tell you a story. An old man lived in a sixty-storey building. One day he fell down from it when he was cleaning the window. But he didn't hurt himself. ”
“It was a miracle!” called out his children. “Why?”
“Because he lived on the first floor!”
They all began to laugh while two policemen with a bag came in. They said a Chinese boy found it under the big tree and he asked them to find out who lost it.“It's really a miracle!” the Clarkes said happily.

What is a hurricane?
You may already know that hurricanes are storms that can cause devastating(毁灭性的)waves，wind，and rain．They happen during“Hurricane Season，”which is from June 1st until November 30th in the Atlantic Ocean and from May 15th until November 30th in the Pacific Ocean.
Categories(类别)of Hurricanes
There are five categories of hurrlcanes, which are based on wind speeds. The categories help people know how much damage(危害)a hurricane may cause because the greater the wind speed，the more dangerous the storm．For example，a Category 5 hurricane has winds over 155 miles per hour，which are strong enough to destroy the buildings along the shorelines completely．
Hurricane Dangers
When a hurricane happens together with heavy rainfall，there can be a devastating flood．The centre of a hurricane is called the eye．While most of a hurricane has dangerously strong winds，the eye is actually(事实上)a calm area in the storm．When the eye of a hurricane passes over land，people might think that it’s over，but before long the wind and rain increase again as the second part of the hurricane moves through．
Hurricane Safety Tips
There is no way to stop a hurricane or make it change direction，so if you ever find yourself in the path of a hurricane，be sure to remember the following safety tips．
·Be sure you have a radio，batteries，fresh drinking water，and enough food．
·Tell neighbours，friends，and family members your emergency plans．Tell them where you’ll go if you need to leave your home．
·If you live near the ocean，leave your home and travel to a safe place．You could stay with a friend or a family member，in a hotel／motel，or in an emergency shelter area．
·Stay inside during the storm．You could be seriously injured(受伤)if you go outside．

The man on this quarter is John Muir．Even as a child, Muir loved watching nature. Everyone needs friends. There is an old saying: Friends are God’s way of taking care of us. But how do you find real friendship and keep it?
“The Care and Keeping of Friends” by American author Sally Seamans tells young students some smart ways to find friends.
Sally says finding friendship is just like planting a tree. You plant the seed and take care of it to make it grow.
First, you should choose a friend. What makes a good friend? It is not because a person has money or good looks. A good friend should be kind and patient. For example, if you have a bad day, a good friend should listen to your complaints(抱怨) and do their best to help. To make a friend, you cannot be too shy. You should make each other happy and share your lives.
