One day Tony was crossing the road when he was hit by a car. He fell and broke his arm.
He was sent to a hospital. There a doctor operated on his arm. Then he put the arm in a cast(石膏). Tony could not move at all.
“You must keep your arm in a cast for a month.” The doctor said,“That will give the bone(骨头) a chance to get well.”
A month later, Tony went back to the hospital. The doctor used a large knife to cut the cast. Then he took Tony’s arm out of the cast.
“Can you move your arm, Tony?” he asked.
Tony tired to move his arm. At last it was difficult, but soon he could move it easily.
“Yes, it’s fine.” He said, “Thank you very much.”
“In a few days it will be as good as before.” the doctor said, “Just exercise it a little every day.”
“Will I be able to play the guitar?” Tony asked.

Before you go to another country, it’s great helpful if you know the language and some of the customs of that country.
When people meet each other for the first time in Britain, they say “Hello” or “Nice to meet you”and shake hands. Usually they don’t shake hands when they just meet or say goodbye. But they shake hands after they haven’t met for a long time or when they’ll be away from each other for a long time.
Last year a group of German students went to English for a holiday. Their teacher told them the English people hardly shake hands. So when they met their English friends at the station, they kept their hands behind their back. The English students had learned that the Germans shake hands as often as possible, so they put their hands in front and got ready to shake hands with them. It made both of them laugh.

Dear Mr Heppell,
I am Sabrina Akhtar studying in a high school and I’ve noticed that forests are disappearing.
You know, forests are disappearing around the world each year. This is because of many different reasons including farming, tourism pollution, etc. If we stop doing these things, there will be a good future for people of tomorrow.
Now I’m writing to ask you to help stop forests from disappearing. You can help by getting shops to stop selling paper made from trees and changing to tree-free paper (paper not made from trees). This will help forests so much. There are many things we can do to help forests. If you would like to know more, please visit http://www. Rain forest web. Org/.. By changing the little things, we can make a big difference.
If you would like to contact me, please see the above address or e-mail at shazadinol@ hotmail.co.uk. Thank you for taking your time in reading this letter.
Yours sincerely,
Sabrina Akhtar
