Elsie Comer is nearly 92, but she can still play a game of Words with Friends on her iPad and claims (宣称) that the Apple product has changed her life.
Mrs. Comer, who lives in a house close to Manchester Airport, admits(承认) to playing the hugely popular puzzle game at a time and also uses her iPad to track the planes that fly overhead and explore the world with Google Earth.
"It's been a wonderful ,way to keep in touch with my family, " she said. "I use it nearly all the hours of daylight. 2-3 hours in the morning. then again in the afternoon. " I live near the airport , so I love being able to look at the Flight Tracker and see where the planes that fly overhead are going. I also really like Words with Friends . and have 16 games going at a time.
Mrs. Comer taught painting when she left school. She did own a laptop. But struggled(费力 ) with it. "She had a laptop before, but the problem was that she couldn't see the cursor(光标), and that she also has shaky hands that struggle with the mouse. " said her 63-year-old daughter, Jean Holt , from Citheroe. "I was in America visiting my daughter, and I played with an iPad and decided to buy one for my mother.
Mrs. Holt loaded the iPad with apps(应用程序) gradually so her mother could learn how to use them. "She uses it several hours a day, and is determined (决心) to keep up with everything new, so she reads the news, sends emails, and uses FaceTime to make video calls to us all." she said.

Rocky Hurt and Ethan Wilson were playing football in their front yard in Marietta. Suddenly a woman they had never met ran out of her house shouting to them to call an ambulance. That woman was Susanna Rohm. Her 12-week-old baby seemed to stop breathing. She was so scared that she couldn’t find her cell phone . so she had decided to rush outside to ask for help.
After getting their parents to make the call, the two boys followed their mother to see if they could do anything to help. And help they did! As Susanna was trying to do CPR(心肺复苏术) on her baby. young Rocky came in and told her she was doing it all wrong. Instead he asked her to use two fingers, push on the chest 5-10 times, tilt(倾斜 ) the baby's head, plug(堵住) the nose and then do a mouth-to-mouth resuscitation (复苏 ) by breathing into the baby's mouth. Luckily for him and the baby, Susanna accepted his advice for even a second and came a loud cry from the baby. Soon the doctors came and the baby was sent to hospital.
The most amazing part of this story is that neither boy has attended a CPR class. Instead, they learned it all by carefully reading the posters on the wall of their school hall. And, while they are now being called heroes and even interviewed on national television. Neither really cares. They are just glad to have saved the baby's life! "Thanks to the posters on the walls, they could save the kid ! " their teacher said to the reporter proudly.
