In the north of Scotland there is a lake called Loch Ness. It’s the deepest lake in the UK. People say a big monster (妖怪) lives in the water. It weighs at least 1,000 kilos. A lot of people went to Loch Ness to look for this strange monster, but only a few people said they saw it. Nobody knows if they really saw it.
The Loch Ness Monster is a famous story. People first told it over 500 years ago, but it became popular later. In 1993, somebody said he saw a big monster in the middle of the lake. After that, some people also said they saw a monster in Loch Ness. A few people took photos, but some of them weren’t real photos. Then scientists worked hard to find out the fact. They took lots of photos, but they couldn’t find the monster.
Is there really a monster in the lake? There is no evidence(证据). But there is also no evidence that there is not. One thing is true: plenty of people go there for it every year.
