Almost everyone has experienced a twist of fate (命运的转折) at some point of their lives. Chinese actor, Hu Ge, is no different. And his story is more amazing than most.
Hu enjoyed success at a very young age. In 2005, he acted as a swordsman in the TV series The Legend of Sword and Fairy (仙剑奇侠传), who later became a classic character. Then the 23-year-old Hu became the first choice for costume idol dramas (古装偶像剧).
Everything was going well until a serious car accident in 2006 changed his life. The accident almost killed Hu and left a big scar (伤疤) by his right eye. Although Hu still got invitations to be in idol dramas, he realized that being an idol with just a pretty face is not what he wanted.
For the next few years, he tried acting in serious dramas and stage plays. He didn’t mind being covered with dirt and blood (血) when playing a soldier. He practiced the plays hundreds of times to make sure he did well.
Hu’s hard work haven’t got much attention until last year. Two TV dramas he acted in, The Disguiser (伪装者) and Nirvana in Fire (琅琊榜),helped him get back on top.

Some teenagers think that newspapers are boring and only for adults. But that’s not true. There are many interesting stories in the paper. Read the newspaper carefully, we’ll find different types of articles on the pages: News stories—These stories are about events. Reporters try to show all points of a story to help readers understand what happened. Reporters try to speak to as many people as possible. They also use pictures and numbers to show the readers that the stories are true. The newspaper Teenagers has lots of news stories on the news page and front page. When we read them, we learn more about the facts, not the writers’ ideas.
Opinion writing-- Opinion writing is usually about something happening right now. But it isn’t just facts. Here writers add their own opinions to the news. Writers pick only the facts that help back up their ideas. They make readers believe that they are telling the truth. This is usually the kind of story that gets people thinking.
