The world is divided into(被分为)two important parts. One half of the world is rich and the other half is poor. In the poor part, a lot of people never get enough to eat. In the rich part, a lot of people eat too much. In one part, children are hungry and in the other, a lot of people are fatter and fatter and have to go on diets or do some exercise to lose weight. For example, a dog or a cat in North America eats better than a child in the poorer countries.
The poor countries have some difficult problems. Sometimes the land is too poor to grow anything on. The land can get better, but people have to do a lot of things first. More experts (专家)should go there to teach people how to enrich(使富裕) their land and how to find water.
But rich countries have problems, too. They are not always pleasant places to live in. Sometimes the air is too dirty to breathe (呼吸)and the rivers are too dirty to swim in or to take water. The roads and the streets are full of people and buses. Cars usually move very slowly. Noise is terrible. A lot of people do not have houses to live in. People must do something about these problems. We should do something to make the air and the rivers clean and build more houses. But it will take a long time.

Yesterday the police were busy searching (搜索) for the two missing teenagers, Vicky Gray and Tom Hunter, and their guide, Gavin Jones. The police said that they disappeared (消失) during an adventure (冒险) trip of Cape York Peninsula.
This was the second day of the search and the police were now very worried about the three missing people.
The police said that they searched a wide area, but the forest was thick and their work became harder because of the rain these days. Later on, the policeman Roger Fleet said, “The visitors had a radio with them. If they were in trouble, they would call us.”
The three visitors left Cooktown very early on Saturday morning in a Toyota car. They took a small road that runs down to the Daintree River, a dangerous river full of crocodiles (鳄鱼). Roger Fleet said the visitors wouldn’t get into trouble if they stayed on the main road.
A policeman found a photo of Vicky and Tom near the “Be careful about crocodiles” sign near the river. Why was the photo left behind? This is just one of the unanswered questions. Other questions are: Why did they park the Toyota car at the edge (边缘) of the forest? And the police said that the visitors left a map of the area behind, too.
If anyone can give information or see these three young people, call the police in Cooktown.
