We can’t remember clearly when we started to take our mobiles to a dinner table. This happens a lot, especially when we eat out. Once a dish comes, instead of lifting our chopsticks, we take out our mobiles and click. Later, we post the photos onto Weibo or Wechat, waiting to be “liked”. Then we check our mobiles from time to time during the meal, to see① ________
we get “liked” or not. We just cannot leave our mobiles for only a meal.
Does that sound familiar to you? Do you do that often? If not, how do you feel when others do that when having dinner with you?
A recent study suggests that what we are used to doing is not so good. Spending time taking photos of food makes the food less pleasant. To test this, some researchers did an experiment. Some people were asked to take photos before they could enjoy food. As a result, it showed that the more photos they took, the less delicious the food seemed to them. So, why not ②__________ taking photos and just enjoy the food in front of you?
Besides the scientific result, there are also some other bad influences of taking photos of food before meals. After posting the photos onto the Internet, one will not be able to control himself and check his mobile many times. “Does everyone like my photos? I hope a lot of people like them!” It seems that your mobile secretly calls your name all the time, even when you are with real people.
So, next time you go out to have dinner with your family or friends, how about not taking photos of food? Let the food be delicious as it is and share your life with people around you. Trust me, it will be a wonderful time.

Sometimes, on grey, rainy days, your mood level is lower than on bright, sunny days. Would you like to know more about how the weather can affect how you feel?
According to a recent study, there’s a connection between weather and moods. Going to a warm place in the middle of winter can make our moods better. Pleasant weather has been proved(证实) to improve moods and memory. However, extremely hot weather can make us feel more tired and bored, spoiling(破坏) our moods.
In the study, people who spent time outdoors in warm weather were happier than those who spent all day inside. They also found better memory scores when they ran tests comparing the two groups.
The best temperature for humans is about 22.2℃. That explains why people in southern California are happy all the time. To improve moods, a person must spend at least 30 minutes outside in warm sunny weather. Spending time indoors when the weather outside is so nice tends to lower moods. It’s mostly because we don’t like to be inside when spring time arrives. It can also make inside activities seem boring.
Maybe the activities connected with being outside affect our moods. Warm weather is connected with the beach, fun outdoor sports and so on. It brings back childhood memories of playing outside all day.
Of course, we can wake up every day and decide how we’ll feel that day. If it’s rainy, that won’t necessarily make us unhappy. We’ll just have to bring our umbrellas out and cheer up those who are feeling sad!

Even kids know that we should wait for the traffic light to turn green before crossing a road, but not everybody follows this basic rule.
“Chinese style road crossing” has become a hot expression recently. Chinese people “cross roads without thinking about traffic lights, so long as they are part of a crowd”, said a post on Sina Weibo.
A CCTV news program showed that in only an hour, more than 600 people jumped red lights when crossing a road at a crossing in Shijiazhuang, Hebei.
Many people say that they jaywalk(乱闯马路)because the red light lasts too long. Such an opinion is supported by a research team at Tongji University. The team did research on people’s waiting times at different road crossings from 2008 to 2010. They found that Chinese people would wait for 70 to 90 seconds before they lost their patience. “People are likely to ignore the light when the waiting time is longer than they can stand,” said Ni Ying, a member of the research team.
However, a survey on Sina Weibo suggested that half of the respondents(调查对象) believe that people jaywalk mainly because they disregard rules. “I always obey traffic rules. Time is important but safety should come first.” Wrote “Qixiaoe” on Weibo.
Many countries give out punishments to jaywalkers. In Singapore, the maximum(最大量) can be three months in prison. Some Chinese cities have started taking some actions, too. For example, the first three people in a jaywalking group will be fined 50 yuan in Shijiazhuang.
But calling on people to respect rules is more important. To completely solve the problem, everyone should realize the importance of obeying the traffic rules.
