I had a strange dream last night. This dream helped me think more about Bobby. And now I understand Bobby much better.
In the dream, Bobby looked quite unhappy. He had a face-to-face talk with me. He said, “Sam, I have something to tell you. I don’t like my life. I am not as happy as you think.”
Bobby became my friend more than five years ago. He lives with me. I buy him fish and milk and lots of toy mice every week. I even bought a small house for him, because he sometimes likes to stay at some place only by himself. I love him with all my heart, and give him what I love.
But what is going wrong? In the dream Bobby said angrily, “My life can’t be worse! I don’t like fish. I don’t like milk. And toy mice? Are you crazy? I’m not a cat, and I don’t want to be a cat, either!”
After the dream, I know better about him: Dogs don’t like fish or milk. And surely they do not like toy mice. Most important of all, they will let you know when they are really unhappy!
