There are many wetlands(湿地)in China and some of them have become internationally(国际性的)important wetlands. The Chinese Yellow Sea Wetlands are one example. They are in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province. They are the ideal home for many different kinds of birds and animals. The world’s largest Milu Deer (麋鹿)Nature Reserve(保护区)is there. More than 700 milu deer live freely there. On May 23, six pandas left an important panda base (基地) in Wolong, southwest China’s Sichuan Province(四川省), because of damaged (损坏的) shelters and food shortages(短缺)after the May 12 earthquake(地震), The pandas took trucks(卡车) to Ya’an,a local official(官员) said.

Eight other pandas left the Chengdu Research Base on May 18. They will take China Southern Airlines (CSA) to Beijing. They will travel on a Boeing 747-700 plane with bamboo and water. and they will stay at the Beijing Zoo, said Wolong director Zhang Hemin.
