Recently some schools offer their students some interest classes or special classes such as cooking classes, handcraft classes, traditional opera classes and so on. Is it necessary to offer these classes? We had a discussion in our class. Some students think it’s really necessary to do it. First, it’s good for students to develop their interests. And interests can make them get more knowledge. Second, these classes are helpful for them to improve their life skills. These skills are useful for young students. However, others have different opinions. They don’t think it’s so necessary. They think it’s a waste of time and it’s not helpful for their study. And these activities can cause a lot of stress for children. In my opinion, it’s a good idea to offer these classes. They are not only good for our study but also for our growing. Thank you! 【解析】 这是一篇话题作文,并且已给出了内容提示,所以我们在写作时要围绕所给内容提示展开。 根据作文要求,可以确定文章的时态是一般现在时; 在表达观点时通常会用到例如:I think, in one’s opinion 等引出观点的词语。另外,可以用到first, second, third, finally 等一一列出观点,使文章更有条理,次序。

Some people believe that intelligence (智力) decides a student’s success. But there is no research to support this opinion, and in fact, it is wrong. Students’ success or failure is finally decided by one simple thing: the ways of they’re learning. Some students are lucky when they find ways that are helpful for them to study. But not all students are so lucky. Some students still learn in ways that are not scientific.

Dr. James J. Asher showed a method called “Total Physical Response (反应)” as a way to teach languages. Studies at San Jose State University showed that students who moved their bodies while learning English learned more words and grammar in a short time. Those who sat still and didn’t move learned less. After a year, the students who learned by moving their bodies still remembered 80% or more of what they had learned, while the others forgot over 80%.

So you should make sure that you keep moving when you learn English. As you listen to a story or an article, do the action. For example, if you hear the word “go”, move your feet. Imagine you are acting out the story or article that you are listening to. By doing this, you will be able to learn more English, remember it for longer and use it more easily.

As school kids, we might have many dreams. These dreams can be very big, such as winning the Nobel Prize. Or they can be small. You may just want to become one of the ten best students in your class.

Once you have found a dream, what do you do with it? Have you ever tried to make your dream come true?

Follow Your Heart by Australian writer Andrew Matthews tells us that realizing our dreams is life’s biggest challenge, you may think you’re not very good at some school subjects, or that it is impossible for you to become a writer. These kinds of thoughts stop you from getting your dream, the book says. In fact, everyone can realize their dreams. The first thing you must do is to remember what your dream is. Don’t let it leave your heart. Keep telling yourself what you want and you will realize your dream faster. Do this step by step. A dream can’t be realized in one day. A big dream is, in fact, many small dreams. You should never give up your dream easily.

There must be difficulties on the road to realize it. But the biggest difficulty comes from yourself. You need to decide what is the most important.
