When, you are considering buying something you want, run through this checklist first.
1.

If the thing passes the "really-wanting-it" test, try to wait for some time(maybe some days or a week)to see how strong the desire is.Perhaps at that time, you don’t want it any longer. This strategy works for grown-ups, too!

4.
Peter had a lot of things to do to help his family. He could water the flowers,do the dishes or walk the dog. Finally,he decided to wash the downstairs windows at a dollar each.So he got $10 for himself.and sparkling (闪亮的) sunlight for the rest of the family.
5.
After deciding to buy it,it is necessary for you to look for less expensive ways to buy it: search for what you want on the internet or in shops and flea markets. Sometimes you can find the same thing at a much lower price.
If these suggestions work well, they can save you a lot of money. You will be a really smart shopper.

“Budda(佛)-like youngsters” has become the buzzwords online overnight. What is “Budda-like”?Actually,it has nothing to do with Buddhism. It's only an attitude towards life. It means one should neither be pleased by outside gains nor be saddened by personal losses. Besides, it guides a lifestyle that “it's fine to have something or not.”
The youngsters are in their 20s. Although they haven’t developed themselves into the “God” , they've learned how to live a comfortable life. It's not that they refuse to make progress but that the pain from efforts overwhelms (压倒) the joy from gain. So, they stop considering struggle (奋 斗) as the most important part or even the only aim in life as their parents did. Gradually, “Budda-like” becomes the weapon (武器)for the youngsters to fight against the society that doesn’t belong to them.

When we want to find out what the weather will be like tomorrow, we usually turn on the radio or TV. But in the time before radio and TV, people needed to forecast (预测) the weather. How did they do it? Let’s learn about two weather rhymes (押韵的诗) together.
Red sky at night, Sailor’s delight!
Red sky in the morning, Sailors take warning!
This weather rhyme was written a long time ago, but it still works today. As the sun is setting, a red sky at night usually means there are no clouds coming in from the west, a sign of good weather for tomorrow. But a red sky in the morning always means drier air is moving away to the east and moister air is moving in from the west. The moist air could bring clouds, rain and stormy weather.
When leaves show their undersides (底部), Be very certain, rain betides.
The rhyme shows us how trees forecast the weather. Tree leaves turn upside down just before it rains. In the period before a storm, strong winds can lift the leaves and show their undersides.
Animals, insects and plants are natural forecasters. When a summer storm is coming, you may notice that dogs, cows, horses, and geese grow restless (不安的) and frogs come out of their hiding places. These animals don’t have some sixth sense. Scientists think the animals can hear the low frequency (频率) sound waves made by thunderstorms many miles away.
Get outside and observe nature carefully, and soon you’ll be your own weather forecaster.
1.The underlined word “moist” can be replaced by the word “________”.
A.wet B.Cold C.warm D.clean
2.What is helpful for some animals to forecast the stormy weather?
A.Their sense of sight. B.Their sense of hearing.
C.Their sense of smell. D.Their sense of touching.
3.Which of the following is TRUE?
A.The two rhymes are both about winter weather.
B.When leaves show their undersides, it will be fine.
C.If you see a red sky in the morning, you can travel outside.
D.If you see a frog come out of its hiding place, you’d better stay at home.
4.What’s the writer’s main purpose in writing this passage?
A.To introduce two famous weather rhymes to us.
B.To tell us we should read as many rhymes as possible.
C.To show us the way to observe different animals.
D.To encourage us to get close to nature and observe the weather on our own.
Tony Bennett, the American singer recently touring Britain, can’t remember how many times he has sung his standard hit “I Left My Heart in San Francisco”. He sang it again to his audience at the London Palladium last night. “I never get tired of singing it,” he said. “I like it too much. It’s a great city and it’s a good song.” Bennett is to record a TV special with American singer Lena Home while he is here. And a new LP recorded by him in London for Philips titled “Listen Easy” will be published in June. “I like it here,” he added quietly over whiskey. “I would like to live here so many months of the year.” He already keeps a large flat in Grosvenor Square, where he is staying with his actress wife Sandie Grant and their three-year-old daughter Joanna.
