Hans Christian Andersen is one of the greatest fairy tales writers in the world. He wrote a lot of best-known stories such as The Emperor’s New Clothes and The Ugly Duckling. His fairy tales have brought happiness to the children across the world. The tales have versions(版本) of over a hundred languages. Andersen was born in Denmark in 1805. When he was still a young boy, he was already very clever. He created a small toy theatre and made clothes for his puppets (木偶). He also loved reading. In 1816, his father died and he learned to be a tailor(裁缝). Later he worked in a factory. When he was fourteen years old, Andersen moved to the capital of Denmark to become an actor and gave performances in the Royal Danish Theatre. However, because his voice changed when he grew older, the job had to stop. Then he began to write poems and fairy tales.

It’s very common for students’ mark to fall. Sometimes it is because of situations outside school, such as problems at home. Sometimes it is only because of the harder exams.
When your marks start to fall, you should try talking to a friendly teacher. He or she can help you with the subjects you find difficult. Stop comparing yourself with other people. It does not matter if other students get higher exam marks than you. What is important is that you do your best. Before each exam, you should go through your notes from class. You should remember the most important things you have written in a shorter form.
Look through your shorter notes again just before the exam. You will be surprised when you find you remember so much. It may take hard work and your marks may not improve straight. But let your confidence rise by every mark. Soon they should begin to climb again.

Why is setting goals(目标) important? Because goals can help you do and experience everything you want in life. Instead of just letting life happen to you, goals allow you to make your life happen.
Successful people in life imagine how their life should be and set lots of goals.1.It's like having a sign to show you where you want to go. Think of it in this way. There are two drivers. One has a place to go to clearly in mind which can be found on a map. He can drive straight there surely without any wasted time. The other driver has no goal , or a map.
2.But she drivers aimlessly(无目的地) around, never getting anywhere, just using up oil. Which driver do you want to be?

Nearly all students at boarding schools wear a school uniform. Boys usually wear a shirt and a tie, and girls wear a white blouse, at times also a tie and a skirt.
