We have heard a lot of stories about parents trying their best to save their children's lives, but today I will tell you a different story.
Lu Zikuan is an 11-year-old boy who studies at school in Huixian County, Henan Province. But he has taken up a task to save his father's life in an unexpected way—by eating as much as he possibly can. Maybe many people think the task is simple. But in fact, becoming fat isn't easy in such a short time.
The father is sick and in need of a bone marrow transplant( 骨髓移植), and the hospital will only do it if the donor(捐赠者) has a certain weight(45 kilograms). The doctor said that the heavier the weight is, the better it is.
Lu Zikuan is the only one that can match his father's bone marrow in the family. He is now gaining weight as quickly as possible to meet the requirement. Every day, he must eat a lot of food. It makes him always have a stomachache. “Even if it hurts, I'll still eat,” Lu said. “Our family couldn't bear(承受) the loss of my dad.”
He has ballooned(激增) to 48kg from 30kg since March, when the bone marrow from the boy successfully matched that of his father. His aim is to reach 50kg. And this was his wish on International Children's Day on June 1, 2019.

China isn’t very well-known for its sci-fi films. But a new movie called The Wandering Earth has become China’s biggest sci-fi hit. It’s based on a short story written by a Chinese sci -fi( 科 幻 小 说 ) writer Liu Cixin. In the film, Earth is in face of being destroyed by the dying sun. So humans around the world work together to move Earth out of the solar(太阳的) system. But it will take 2, 500 years to do this.
In most space films, whenever Earth faces a disaster, the solution is always fleeing the planet in spaceships. But The Wandering Earth, offers a different idea: Earth goes wherever humans go, because it’s our home. Instead of giving up Earth again this time, we’re taking it with us.
For thousands of years, “homeland” has had an important place in the hearts and minds of Chinese people. This special cultural background is probably what makes The Wandering Earth different from Hollywood-style space films.
