Clouds are an ordinary sight. However, this Dutch artist makes his own.
Berndnaut Smilde creates clouds in locations where nature would never place them. The interior (内部) of a church or museum looks different behind a cloud. And an everyday cloud looks unusual in a castle. The art project explores the beauty of clouds. Each scene lasts only five seconds before it disappears.
The ingredients (成分) for Smilde's clouds: just smoke and water vapor (水蒸气). The artist requires a cold and wet space with no wind. Otherwise the clouds will never form or will fall straight to the ground.
Once a cloud is formed, Smilde will run around it and turn it into a shape about three meters across and 1.8 meters tall. Then, he will step back far enough to take several pictures. Smilde will not stop until he is happy with the results. Usually, he creates a dozen clouds at a time.
Many people are interested in Smilde's project. Some ask him to create clouds for them at a party or a wedding ceremony. Smilde, however, often refuses the invitations. He says he only creates clouds when the setting (背景) offers him something fresh. The artist doesn't just want people to stare in wonder at his clouds. He also wants people to appreciate the transience of life. For the clouds, they exist only for a moment and then are gone forever.
Each creation is "about being at the right place at the right time," Smilde says. "If you are seeing a photo, you have already missed it."

I have been working at Papworth Hospital in Cambridge for the past 20 years. My day starts at 5:30, when I have two cups of black coffee while listening to the radio. Recently, I've been using the morning to work on a book I'm currently writing. I'm in the hospital just before 8:00. If it's a nice day, I'll cycle the fifteen miles to my office, but my favorite way of getting to work is on my motorbike.
My week is divided into operating and non-operating days. Monday and Tuesday are my operating days and I like to come in early and stay late to check the progress of my patients. During the rest of the week, I'm in clinics or working in research.
On a typical operating day, I will conduct two to three operations. Some of the complex operations can take as long as ten to twelve hours. In certain cases, I think about them days, or even weeks, in advance.
Last week, I had one of these cases which took a lot of thinking through (充分考虑) beforehand. The patient was a young man who had a rare congenital heart abnormality (先天性心脏畸形). He needed an operation urgently, or he would probably die. I planned the operation in my head while at the dentist's.
Like many other doctors, I am always on call for my patients. When I do get to have some time to myself, I enjoy creating crossword puzzles (纵横填字游戏). I even make them for The Guardian!

On January 27, in order to win the new pneumonia Resistance War (抗击新型肺炎战), the Ministry of Education issued (教育部公布) a notice on putting off the start time of school in spring 2020. It was said that school should not start before March. The exact start time of school will depend on situations and further notices.
However, many parents are very worried that putting off the start of school may affect (影响) children's studies. If they have such a long winter vacation, children will not learn any knowledge, read books or study at all. They may forget what they have learned before. Staying at home for a long time will make them keep eating, sleeping and playing, which seriously affect their physical and mental health.
In short, the close of school influences learning and develops bad habits, so how should we avoid these problems? Local education departments have also issued a notice, that is, to organize online teaching and create a network platform (平台), where some courses will be shown every day, and online teaching will be given by excellent teachers of the subject, and students can learn at home through computers or mobile network.
It should be said that such a method is very good. It can not only keep students indoors and not worry about the infection (感染) of the disease, but also make them study at home, improve their learning ability, and truly achieve "no suspension of classes". Both the platform itself and the recorded lesson resources are more useful, and are welcomed by parents and teachers.
Of course, except for learning at home, it is also needed to teach children about health knowledge, especially how to keep away from touching virus and other knowledge popularization; at the same time, it is also needed for children to do some physical exercises or some games, which is good for physical health at home.
