Most of us eat to satisfy our appetite (胃口) for delicious food. But due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP), many Chinese people are changing their eating habits.

Because of busy work schedules, ordering simple and quick meals online used to be common for many young people in China. Zhang Xiaoyan, a 30-year-old from Nanjing, was one of them.在工作日,她通常在办公室吃外卖食品而不是在家下厨。Even on weekends, she would prefer takeout food, which demanded (需要) little time.

Now, she rolls up her sleeves(袖子) and cooks for herself. “Cooking sometimes is quite time-demanding but it helps me have a healthy eating habit.” Zhang told China Daily.

Instead of eating in the restaurant, cooking at home has become more and more popular. Some even share food videos on their We Chat Moments at meal times.这被认为是一种与朋友沟通的特殊方式。

Besides eating at home, many people also developed the good habit of using serving chopsticks and spoons. They thought it was not clean to use their own to eat dishes. They also eat separately in order not to get infected (感染).

Healthy eating habits and maintaining good order have become real problems for us. It’s related to people’s health and safety, and it’s also a personal responsibility during the pandemic (疫情) stated Guangming Daily.

The disease is still spreading, and more must be done to bring it under control. As long as these habits are good for our health, we should keep them from now on to fight against the virus.

Through ups and downs, the poet never stopped writing and about 1,500 poems have been kept over the ages. Even though he never held a high position in the government, Du still cared about common people. For example, in the poem My Cottage Unroofed By Autumn Gales (《茅屋为秋风所破歌》), he wrote that “Could I get mansions covering ten thousand miles, I’d house all scholars poor and make them beam with smiles.”

So, have you ever stepped back and wondered what your voice sounds like to other people? Your friends and family can probably tell who you are just by the sound of your voice. And it turns out that it says a lot about us.

• Your voice tells how social you are

1.. Outgoing people prefer to talk loudly, quickly, and excitedly. Introverts (内向的人) prefer to speak quietly and more slowly. So, if you’re that loud person at a party, you’ll probably find that all eyes are on you. However, introverts won’t possibly be at that party at all.

• Your voice says something about your height

This may sound strange, but if people close their eyes and hear you speak, they can probably tell if you’re tall or short. 2., while shorter people are considered to have a higher voice. This is true for both men and women.

3.

If you’ve noticed a lot of changes in a person’s voice—the speed at which they talk, the tone and pitch of their (语气和音调) voice, or whether their voice has become quieter-they may have Parkinson’s disease. These changes can happen in die voice because of the tremors (震颤) that a patient would be experiencing.

• Your voice can tell how successful you are

Successful people’s voices tend to be of a lower, warmer tone. Their words come out calmly without showing too many emotions, and their vocal cords (声带) won’t be tight. 4., but not so loudly that they’re unpleasant to listen to.

A.Taller people usually have a deeper voice

B.Your voice can tell others about your health

C.They’ll speak loudly enough to make themselves heard

D.A confident person will have a smooth and steady (稳定的) tone

E.People can tell whether you’re outgoing or introverted

Did you forget your password (密码) or your ID? Well, you’ll never forget your face. Using your face as your ID is quick and convenient. You could take the subway or get on the plane with just your face alone. This is how facial recognition (人脸识别) works. It has also been used to catch criminals. The American pop singer Taylor Swift even used the technology to find out the person who did something bad to her at her concerts.

In China, facial recognition systems(系统) have been used in many areas. In Zhengzhou, people can now get on the subway by using facial recognition technology. They just need to connect their online payment systems to the subway’s smartphone app. Students at certain schools can pass through the school’s gates by scanning (扫描) their face.

However, there are no laws to control the use and collection of facial information now, according to Zhao Zhanling, a researcher at the China University of Political Science and Law. Many people are worried about the collection and use of the information by governments and companies. Why is it necessary to collect data about your face and what will the data (数据) be used for? These are some common questions about the facial recognition.

“I feel uncomfortable because I don’t know how the company is using my facial information or whether it will be leaked. If so, my secret information will become known to the public.” Feng Yi, a tourism company worker, said about Zhengzhou’s subway smartphone app. Leaks are a problem that worries people because companies have always failed to protect users’ data. When someone steals your personal information, you can change your bank card and password, but can you change your face when your facial information is stolen?

As facial recognition is used more and more in our daily lives - from schools and subways to street comers and smartphones - we must ask ourselves whether or not this new technology is worth the risk.

1.The example of Taylor Swift is to ________.

A.show the popularity of facial recognition among pop stars

C.describe people’s fears over facial recognition

2.According to Paragraph 2, facial recognition technology can’t be used to ________.

A.pay to take the subway

B.pass through the school’s gates

3.What does the underlined word “leaked” in Paragraph 4 mean?

A.泄露 B.收集 C.拦截

4.From the passage, we know that ________.

A.some laws have been made to control the use of facial information
