1.was 2.well 3.faster 4.a 5.talented 6.beautifully 7.However 8.eyes 9.for 10.what 【解析】 文章主要讨论了天赋和勤奋对人们的影响,同时还建议选择自己真正感兴趣的或者擅长的事情,把它做好。 1. 句意:事实上,并非每个人来到这个世界上都擅长弹钢琴。 根据空后when they came to this world可知,此句用一般过去时,空前主语everybody是单数,所以be动词用was,故填was。 2. 根据上文“Some of my students work very hard. But they still can’t play the piano beautifully. They practice for long.” 的天赋”talent for ...,故填for。 10. 句意:然后你可以选择你真正擅长的。 根据首字母的提示和分析句子成分可知,此处缺少一个以w开头的引导词来引导宾语从句,同时这个词在宾语从句中还要作介词at的宾语;结合句意可知,此处用what来引导宾语从句,故填what。

Many students have problems with vocabulary when preparing for tests. Here is some advice on how to memorize (记忆) new words. You can build up your English vocabulary with these methods.

Repeated encounters (反复遇见)

The usual way of “memorizing” new words is through repeating them while they’re still in your mind. However, simply repeating a word doesn’t seem to be useful. But the following way is helpful: repeated encounters. Words can be memorized more easily if they’ve been met at least seven times in your reading. So, read English magazines and newspaper from time to time.

Spacing and review

It’s necessary to make a plan of your memory work over a period of time. You’d better memorize words day by day instead of doing it in a single day. That’s why new vocabulary introduced in one lesson is reviewed in the next, and then in later lessons.

Use it or lose it

Putting words to use in interesting ways helps add them to your long-term memory. In a study of vocabulary learning, students who made up their own sentences with new words and read them aloud memorized them better than those who learned the words separately and silently. Besides, you can imagine a picture when memorizing a new word. That can help a lot.

Mix it up

Let’s face it — learning words can be really boring, but it doesn’t have to be. Thanks to the Internet, there are more interesting ways to get the job done. Try watching videos from English-speaking countries and copying the way they speak. You can even upload ( ) your own videos and try becoming a star yourself.

That day, I was studying for an important exam in the library, but there was too much noise, I was getting much angrier and of course I was not able to concentrate (全神贯注的). I couldn’t stand when I heard someone singing behind me. I turned around and looked at the person angrily. It was a tall girl about the same age as me and she had a big smile on her face.     Good morning everybody! I am very glad to stand here to share my topic.

When preparing for this topic, I just want to search some articles and copy them down. I read a lot of articles, some from the university teachers, some from the famous stars, and even from the students of my age. But after reading them, I gave up the idea, I even felt shameful. Because the topic I want to talk about today is a serious topic full of pride.

We know that our country is full of sunshine, and we are the future of our country. So my dream is to  be the hope of our motherland. I don’t want to talk about big events( 大事 ), I just want to call on young people to show the side of courage, good and confidence. Perhaps the strength (力量) of a person is small, but when he is connected with the motherland, he will be a big hero. Perhaps a dream is tiny, but when it becomes the dream of a country, it will be huge. Perhaps I can’t change our country on my own, but if thousands and thousands of young people work for the dream together, our motherland will be stronger and stronger.

I’m looking forward to realizing our Chinese Dream with all of the young people. Thank you for listening. That’s all.
