Should Museum Entry Be Free With International Museum Day coming up, today we are asking readers: Should museums be free or should people have to pay for a ticket? Let us know your view. Comments (评论) Museums are not only there for enjoyment; they are education. This is why they must be free. While museums need a huge amount of money to operate (运转),let the wealthy pay for it. The idea of a person or child interested in art not being able to view (看)it because of cost is wrong. cost is wrong Krista Chen(US)- Age 15 Museums teach people about their past. This is part of our shared culture that should be available to everyone, rich or poor people should never be asked to pay an entrance fee (入场费) Rob Sanchez (Australia)- age 17 There are no simple answers. Low ticket prices could help museums keep open. But businessmen should also provide museums with more money and other support. They have a social responsibility too. Amber White (UK) –Age 16 I think museums should be free to the public. I do, however, think twice a year the museums should organize money-raising events to help pay for the cost of keeping open. When I was a twelve-year-old newspaper boy, an old lady who was my customer lived near my house. I have even forgotten her name. On a winter afternoon, I was playing with my friend near the old lady's backyard. I found a perfectly smooth rock and threw it out, but the stone hit a small window of her house. Suddenly, I saw the old lady standing behind the window. We knew we were in trouble, and ran away quickly. We were scared about that we would be caught and didn't worry about the old lady with the broken window in winter.
The next morning, she was still greeting me with a smile when I gave her the newspaper. I made up my mind to save my money to correct my mistake. After four weeks, I had ten dollars. I put the money in an envelope (信封)with a note explaining everything and hoped that the ten dollars would cover the cost for repairing the window.
I waited until it was dark, and put the envelope in her door. The next day, I handed the old lady her newspaper and she thanked me for it as usual and gave me a bag of cookies. After eating several cookies, I found an envelope and pulled it out. When 1 opened it, I was surprised. Inside were the ten dollars and a short note that said, "I'm proud of you." I smiled in relief. However, I shall never forget the lesson she taught me: It is a virtue (美德)to excuse a mistake.

On April 26, 2017, a big Chinese ship caught the eyes of the whole world. China’s first homemade aircraft carrier(航空母舰) hit the water in Dalian, Liaoning.
The new big ship is China’s second aircraft carrier. It was designed(设计) in China and built in China, too. It is about 315 meters long and 75 meters wide. That is a bit larger than three soccer fields.
An aircraft carrier is like an airport on the sea. It can carry planes and troops(军队) to war. Planes fly from the carrier and land back on it, and soldiers work and live on it, too. But building an aircraft carrier is so hard and expensive. It costs a lot of money and needs a large amount of steel and other special materials. For example, a basic aircraft carrier is made of 60,000 tons of steel. It also uses complex(复杂的) technologies. Finally, it takes years to build one. Today, not many countries own an aircraft carrier or have the ability to build one. China has become the seventh country in the world that can build an aircraft carrier by itself after the USA, Russia, England, France, Italy and Spain.
