Body language
Although it may seem strange, much communication happens without any words. 2.The way you stand and act tells people a lot about you. And if you're nervous, acting like you're confident can help you feel more confident. When you're listening, look at the other person. Ask questions

That means questions where the answer is more than just "yes" or "no". Open-ended questions in English usually start with who, what, when, where and why.
Don't fear silence

Not everything goes the way you want it to. You may go to a restaurant and order a nice meal. But your order is wrong or not cooked properly. You may buy a product that breaks the next day.
1. However, if you speak angrily to people, they will become defensive (自卫的). Then they are less likely to help you. A more effective (有效的) way to get what you want is to stay calm.
Use polite language and a friendly tone of voice. Start with phrases such as, "I'm sorry to bother you, but…" or "Excuse me, but could you…?" For example, "I'm sorry to bother you but I ordered potato soup, not vegetables." Phrasing your complaint as a question also helps. 2. "Could you help me? I just bought this phone case yesterday, but it doesn't work."
3. There is no faster way to make someone defensive than by blaming them. Use the phrase. "I know this isn't your fault, but…" or "There has been a misunderstanding." 4. Blaming people isn't as important as getting a problem fixed!
There are honest mistakes, but at times someone may try to take advantage of you. In that case, don't say "Hey! You're trying to cheat me!" Instead, use the phrase, "I understood that…" For example, "I understood that the service charge was included in the price." Then give the person a chance to answer.
If you don't get what you want with a polite conversation, ask to speak to a manager.

The founder of Huawei seldom spoke to the media, while he let his company's fast growth do the talking. That's changing as Huawei finds itself in a dangerous situation in the US. Ren, 74, tells CNN in an interview that the challenges Huawei faces are just so common for him. "There are always difficulties for me. I never had smooth sailing because when I was young, my family background wasn't good. I had to work really hard to get even just a little bit of opportunity to work."
In 1974, Ren joined the PLA (中国人民解放军) as an engineer. During that period, the country was suffering from terrible food and clothing shortages (短缺). "I had been to college, and people like me could play a role." he said. After the PLA, Ren worked for an oil company before founding Huawei in 1987. It was set up in Shenzhen, which was just a fishing village then.
To get market share, Ren suffered serious depression (抑郁) during the darkest days of the company. Ren pushed staff to work long hours and do whatever it took to save business. Unable to compete in the big cities, Huawei worked on China's small towns and villages. All the time, Ren devoted a lot to research and development, pushing Huawei to create its own technology that would make it compete with its competitors.
Ren worked long hours leaving him little time to build strong relationships with his three children. He has said that while in the PLA, he spent just one month a year with his family. After starting Huawei, "I had to spend 16 hours a day in the office," he said. He once asked his kids whether they’d like him to spend more time with the family or work to "build a platform (平台)" on which they could grow. His children chose the latter (后者).

From March 22 to 24, 2019, more than 500 English speech competitors came to Hangzhou to share their ideas and stories. They took part in the 24th China Daily "21st Century Coca-Cola Cup" National English Speaking Competition. The competition was considered as a contest only for college students. But now it includes many age groups, including kindergarteners. This year, the junior group winner was Wang Licheng from Shanghai Foreign Language School. But she realized the character's charm (魅力) after talking about Harry Potter with a British friend. She found they were similar. She said she was inspired by the Monkey King's power and bravery.
Fang Yuehan from Ningbo Foreign Language School talked about Chinese physician Li Shizhen, who lived during the Ming Dynasty. Inspired by his travels around China, which he worked on before writing the Compendium of Materia Medical (《本草纲目》), Fang said she wanted to spread traditional Chinese culture as well.
