I used to going into the countryside to draw animals and plants, on one day 1 was
walking across a field, looking for rabbits to draw. Lost in thought, I hadn't noticed
a bull (公牛) to running towards me. About 100 metres ahead of was a tree under
which I would sit and draw. Suddenly, I heard the noise behind me. I turned and saw
the bull. I knew a bull can run more faster than a man, and I also knew that a bull
can't see very clearly and notice only shape and movement. So I ran calmly towards
the tree, keep the tree, myself and the bull in a straight line. I also threw my bag to
the right, so it was out the line of the tree. The bull saw a sudden movement and
headed to the bag. I reached the tree and climbed up it.

What is your favorite color? Do you like yellow, orange, red? 1.. Do you prefer grays and blues? Then you are probably quiet, shy, and you would rather follow than lead. You tend to be pessimist. At least, this is what psychologists tell us, and they should know, because they have been seriously studying the meaning of color preference, as well as the effect that colors have on human beings. 2.. If you happen to love brown, you did so, as soon as you opened your eyes, or at least as soon as you could see clearly.
3.. A yellow room makes most people feel more cheerful and more relaxed than a dark green one; and a red dress brings warmth and cheer to the saddest winter day. 4.. A black bridge over the Thames River, near London, used to be the scene of more suicides(自杀)than any other bridge in the area ----until it was repainted green . The number of suicide attempts immediately fell sharply. Perhaps it would have fallen even more if the bridge had been done in pink or baby blue.
5.. It is an established fact that factory workers work better, harder, and have fewer accidents when their machines are painted orange rather than black or grey.
A. On the other hand, black is depressing.
B. They tell us, among other facts, that we do not choose our favorite color as grow up---we are born with our preference.
C. The rooms are painted in different colors as you like.
D. If you do, you must be an optimist, a leader, an active person who enjoys life, people and excitement.
E. Light and bright colors make people not only happier but more active.
F. Life is like a picture or a poem, full of different colors.
G. Colors do influence our moods---there is no doubt about it.
One afternoon after school had finished , Peter and Jane were walking along the street. Suddenly they heard a big noise.
“Come on” shouted Peter.“That sounds like an accident. Let’ see what’s happened.”
They ran to where the noise came from. As soon as they got there, they could see what had happened. A small car had knocked into the side of a truck. The accident had happened in a quiet street with only four houses in it. Peter and Jane were the first ones to reach the site. No other people came.“We must be the only ones who saw the accident,” said Jane. They found that both the car driver and the truck driver were hurt.
“Peter,” said Jane,“ Run back down the road to Mrs Day’s house. Ask her to call the policemen and the ambulance. Hurry. I’ll stay here.”
Off went Peter as fast as he could. There was nothing Jane could do but wait. She knew that when people were hurt in an accident, they shouldn’t be moved. It wasn’t long before the police car and the ambulance arrived. The policeman got the car door open and they carried the man out. Then they got the truck driver out. The men weren’t seriously hurt, but they were both taken to the hospital. The policemen thanked Peter and Jane, “You were very good to act so quickly when you saw the accident.
