Place后面的定语从句主谓宾成分完整,意思通顺,故判断填关系副词,而先行词是表地点的place,故把which改为where。 7.informations---information考查名词。…cafes should be place which we can find much useful informations. Information是不可数名词,没有复数形式,改为information。 8.place前加a 考查冠词词。cafes should be place…….place是可数名词,此处表示泛指,所以前面加a。 9.—do 考查动词短语。a place will give us great harm.。固定短语:do sb harm “对某人有害”,把give改为do。 10.measure—measures 考查名词。government should take measure to make sure that students use cyber cafes positively. 固定短语:take measures to do “采取措施做某事”,把measure改为measures。 考点:考查短文改错

I believe that one of the best ways to connect with people and build quality relationships is through making conversation. Although most people can hold a conversation, only a few are smooth when they talk. I have discovered five simple and effective ways to be a smooth talker. Here they are:

Talk slowly

Generally, good talkers don’t rush into a conversation. 1.____ They act as if they have all the time in the world. This makes them  come off as centered and collected. Model this way of talking and you will create the same effect.

Hold more eye contact

Most people keep eye contact about 2/3 of the time or less when they talk. 2.____ This will convey confidence and interest in interacting with them.

3.____

People with good conversation skills tend to notice the kind of things that the average person doesn’t notice, and to bring such details into the conversation. They may notice and point out an interesting ring on the other person’s hand, a certain foreign accent, or a certain voice tone they use when saying a name. Thus, such individuals impress people in a very elegant manner.

Express Your emotions

4._____ Express your feelings about those facts. Keep in mind that it is at the emotional level that people connect best.

Use the best words

The ability to talk smoothly has a lot to do with choosing the precise words to convey your precise feelings or thoughts. 5._____ It will help you develop a way with words and allow you to express yourself more easily.

Conversational skills don’t improve just like that. It takes time, practice and the ability to learn at a rapid rate from your own experiences.

A.Don’t just present the facts, you’re not a newspaper.

B.It’s a very good idea to hold eye contact just a bit more than that.

C.Notice the details.

D.It is important to improve conversational skills.

E.Offer interesting news.

F.They take their time when they reflect on something and when they say it out loud.

G.Develop your vocabulary and practice communicating as accurately as possible.

Many a online shopper stayed up until 2 am on Sunday, looking through the Internet to buy products being sold at half price before they could be snapped up (be bought)by other shoppers. Tens of millions of the Internet users were crazy to take advantage of the halfprice promotion, started by the ecommerce(电子商务) giant Alibaba Group on Sunday, Nov. 11, which is known as Singles’ Day in China, and is the Chinese answer to Cyber Monday in the United States.

By 7 pm on Sunday, 14.1 billion yuan’s worth of sales was made on tmall. com and taobao. com. That could make Singles’ Day the biggest ecommerce sales day on record. The research company comScore said US online retailers (零售商) saw $ 1.25 billion of sales during last year’s Cyber Monday, the day after Thanksgiving weekend and the busiest day for online retailers as US shoppers start to prepare for Christmas.

Singles’ Day originated with university students, and was later adopted by ecommerce companies as a promotional opportunity. Ecommerce companies, including Jingdong Mall and Amazon China, also took part in the promotion.“ In the past, people only shopped online occasionally, but now, online shopping is a lifestyle accepted by many,” said Zhang Yong, Tmall president.

Alibaba began to hold Singles’ Day promotions in 2009, and last year, its sales totaled 5.2 billion yuan.“I don’t know whether we would lose money, but I don’t think we could earn much on this day by selling goods at half price,” said Hao Hongfeng, chairman of Beijing Jiuxian ECommerce, a liquor retailer in Beijing who took part in the event. He said it is a good opportunity for online retailers to get their names known.

1.Who first introduced Singles’ Day to the public?

A.Some college students.

B.The online shoppers.

D.The online retailers.

2.Why were the online retailers so active in the promotion?

B.To make a lot more money.

C.To make more business friends through the event.

D.To sell more products.

3.What’s the secret behind the success of this promotion?

A.The quality of the products.

B.The fame of the retailers.

C.The favorable price.

D.The aftersales service.

4.Which title do you think is more suitable for this article?

D.A Craze for Online Promotion
