After five years away in my hometown, I find that the neighborhood which I used to living in has changed a lot. The Sichuan Restaurant and the older fish shop across the street from our middle school were gone. There exist now a park where has a small river running through. The factory at the corner of Friendship Street and Zhongshan Road has been moved out of the city, and sports center has been built in their place. The market at the corner of Friendship Street and Xinhua Road has been given way to a supermarket. Besides the bookstore next to our middle school is still there.

1.in 改为 from 2.living 改为 live 3.older 改为old 4.were改为are 5.exist 改为exists 6.where改为that或which 7.and后加a 8.their 改为its 9.去掉been 10.Besides改为but 【解析】 1.in 改为 from;句意是我离开家乡五年,away from属于固定搭配。 6.where改为that或which;which或that引导定语从句,可在从句中作主语,而where是关系副词,不可以。 8.their 改为its;前文中提到了名词The factory是单数,因此把their改为its。 9.去掉been;短语give way to“让路”,用主动语态。 如11.their 改为its;前文中提到了名词The factory是单数,因此把their改为its。 before, after, when, until, since等状语从句引导词的误用等。 8.一些相似结构的误用 如used to do, be used to do, be used to doing等结构的误用。

Liverpool city council want to clear the city of fat pigeons. They say that people are feeding the birds, which makes them fat. The pigeons get bigger because their normal diet would consist of seeds and insects, not high-fat junk food they are eating in the city centre.

The council want people to know that everyone who feeds the pigeons is responsible for the streets being so crowded with these birds. They hope to encourage the birds to move away from the city centre and into parks and open spaces.

Ten robotic birds have been brought into the city centre to scare the pigeons away and visitors are asked not to give the pigeons any food. The mechanical birds - known as “robops” - will sit on the roofs of buildings. They can be moved around to different locations. They look like a peregrine falcon, which is a bird that kills pigeons.
