I was not good in math in the first year of junior high school. Having been failed so many times in math exams, I was anxious about the subject. Every time I tried hardly to work out a math problem, I was afraid of making mistakes, that really made me feel helpless. Unluckily, I met a math teacher in the second year. She told me that I didn’t need to worry about making mistakes, because I could find out my shortcomings through my mistake. She always encouraged me to try again whenever I make a mistake. Thanks to my teacher’s encouragement, I became interesting in math and made rapid progresses. My experience proves that failure is the mother of success and we can learn a lot from our mistakes.

1.in——at 2.been 去掉 3.hardly——hard 4.that——which 5.Unluckily——Luckily 6.mistake——mistakes 7.make——made 8.interesting—— interested 9.progresses——progress 10.在and和we之间加上that 【解析】 试题分析:“我”的数学一直不好,总是担心会犯错。后来在数学老师的鼓励下,取得了很大的进步。 1.in——at 考查固定搭配。形容词短语be good at...擅长于...;do well in擅长于.....;句意:在初中一年级的时候,我并不擅长数学。 2.been 去掉 考查语态。动词fail与本句主语I构成主动关系,所以使用现在分词的主动语态形式做状语,且该动作是已经完成的动作,所以要使用现在分词的完成式having failed.....。 3.hardly——hard 考查副词。副词hardly几乎不;hard努力,艰难;动词短语work hard努力学习;句意:每当我努力学数学题的时候,我都担心会犯错。 4.that——which 考查定语从句。本题定语从句的先行词是mistakes,关系动词which指代先行词在句中做主语,引导非限制性定语从句。 5.Unluckily——Luckily 考查上下文串联。根据下文可知这位数学老师一直在鼓励我不要担心会犯错,这对我来说是幸运的事情。句意:幸运地是,第二年我遇见了一位数学老师。 6.mistake——mistakes 考查名词复数形式。本句中复数名词mistakes表示一类事情,与前句中mistakes形成呼应。 7.make——made 考查时态。 如:they take him lots of good book and fresh fruit.(2009.陕西卷) 此处book改为books. book前用lots of修饰,应用复数。 2. 动词:时态和语态,常出现在总体时态为过去或现在时,中间杂有不适的另一时态的现象;或是及物动词后无宾语,或是不及物动词后加了宾语;需要接ing形式的接了to,或相反等。 如:The Sichuan Restaurant and the older fish shop across the street from our middle school were gone.(2009全国卷I)把were改为are。根据上文可知饭店和鱼店消失都陈述的是现在的情况。 3. 形容词副词:常出现需形容词的地方用了副词或相反;关系副词where, when, why等的缺失或错用。 如:He has a comfortable room, patiently nurses, and a great deal of time to read. (2009.陕西卷)此处patiently改为 patient.修饰名词nurses,用形容词。 4. 介词:主要是介词的多余或缺失,错用。这一部分需要平时多多积累,弄清常用介词的搭配。 考点:考查短文改错

Do you like listening to English songs to learn the language ? Some students don’t believe doing so can help them learn English. I have to say they think wrongly. Listening to English songs can help you learn the language better. You may ask how. Just read on.

Lyrics are not easily forgotten. You listen to them over and over again throughout your life. Once you learn them, they are going to stay with you, and you are going to review them repeatedly because you enjoy them. If you learn just one song per week for a year, those are 52 songs full of new vocabulary and phrases that you will never forget.

Songs give you perfect pronunciation models. As you learn to sing them, you are practicing your pronunciation, you are imitating native speakers, and you are learning how to speak better. The rhythm naturally leads to better pronunciation, better intonation(声调), and more fluency.

When you start paying attention to the lyrics, your listening skills naturally improve. Once you learn a few songs, you’ll start gathering a lot of songs and vocabulary. A larger vocabulary usually means better listening comprehension. Just the fact that you start caring about the lyrics will activate your listening skills and listening to music in English will become an enjoyable learning exercise.

Another huge merit is that you get to practice your grammar. Some of the most intelligent grammar questions my students bring to me come from songs. You can probably even map the entire language into pop songs and greatly improve your grammar by learning the lyrics to your favorite songs.

Now we can conclude that listening to English songs can really help you learn the language well. So listen to more English songs in your free time. You can put the lyrics on your ipod or iphone and read them as you listen. Believe me, and you’ll benefit a lot.

Shyness is the cause of much unhappiness for a great many people. Shy people are anxious and self - conscious; that is, they are concerned with their own appearance and actions too much. Negative thoughts are constantly occurring in their minds: What kind of impression am I making? Do they like me? Do I sound stupid? Am I wearing unattractive clothes?

It is obvious that such uncomfortable feelings must affect people unfavorably. A person’s self- concept is reflected in the way he or she behaves and the way a person behaves affects other people’s reactions. In general, the way people think about themselves has a deep effect on all areas of their lives.

Shy people, who have low respect, are likely to be passive and easily influenced by others. They need faith that they are doing “the right thing”. Shy people are very sensitive to criticism. It makes them feel inferior (自卑).They also find it difficult to be pleased by praises because they believe they are unworthy of praise. A shy person may respond to a praise with a statement like this one: “You’re just saying that to make me feel good, I know it’s not true. It is clear that, while self- awareness is a healthy quality, overdoing it is harmful.

Can shyness be completely got rid of, or at least reduced? Fortunately, people can overcome shyness with determination since shyness goes hand in hand with lack of self respect. It is important for people to accept their weakness as well as their strengths. Each one of us has his or her own characteristics. We are interested in our own personal ways. The better we understand ourselves, the easier it becomes to live up to our chances for a rich and successful life.

A. They are pleased by it.

B. They feel it is not true.

C. They are very sensitive to it.

D. They feel they are worthy of it.

4.We can learn from the passage that shyness can ______.

A. be overcome with determination

B. help us to live up to our full development

C. enable us to understand ourselves better

D. have nothing to do with lack of self respect
