1.measures改成measuring 2.go改成goes 3.referred后面加to 4.progresses改成progress 5.besides 改成beside 6.make sure 后加of 7.but 改成however 8.less 改成fewer 9.be改成being 10.write 后加with 【解析】考学学生的综合语法运用以及对句子的理解能力。 1. A together with /with / as well as /including B结构中谓语动词用单数还是复数取决于A,所以本题用goes,故go改成goes。 3. make sure后一般加从句, make sure of后面加动名词或名词。故make sure 后加of。 7. 这里应该用副词however,故but 改成however。 8. close to与… write with the pen The cloth is easy to wash。 Besides, but, except, except for, excepting, apart from的区别: (1) besides与except 前者表示“除...以外,还有...”;后者表示“从整体中除去...” Besides John, we also went there. Who else heard of it besides you? I looked everywhere except here. ( 2)except与except for a.除去的和非除去的是同类事物,用except e.g.: All the essays are well written except Nelson's. Nelson的文章(除去的)和All the essays(非除去的)是同类事物,所以用except. b.除去的和非除去的不是同类事物(通常表示对整体肯定,对细节加以修正),用except for,并且从语气上通常表示遗憾. e.g.:His essay is well written except for a few spelling mistakes. a few spelling mistakes(除去的)和His essay(非除去的)是不同类的事物. (3) apart from 具有多重意义:既可表示besides,也可以表示except或except for,还可以表示without的意思 e.g.: Apart from the cost, it will take a lot of time.(=besides) The orphan had no one to take care of him apart from his uncle. (=except) He has done good work, apart from a few slight faults. (=except for) There can be no knowledge apart from practice.实践出真知.(=without) (4) excepting =except,但一般用于句首或用于not, without, always等词之后 e.g.: Excepting his brother, they are all right. Everyone, not excepting myself, must share the blame. All of us, without excepting those who know more about the subject, should study. All my brothers come here every day, always excepting the youngest. (5) but与except同义,但but多用在every, any,no等和由这些词构成的复合词如everything, anywhere, nobody等词后及all, none之后 e.g.: The children go to school every day but Sunday. They are all gone but me. You can get the book anywhere but here. There is no one but me. Who but George would do such a thing?

Does this situation seem familiar to you? Your English is progressing well, the grammar is now familiar, the reading comprehension is no problem, and you are speaking quite fluently.1.

First of all, remember that you are not alone. Listening is probably the most difficult job for almost all learners of English as a foreign language. The most important thing is to listen as often as possible.2. The Internet is really a useful tool for English students. You can download The RealPlayer from RealMedia.com. The RealPlayer allows you to use the Internet like a radio station.

Once you have begun to listen on a regular basis, you might still be frustrated (受阻)by limited understanding.3.

Here is some of the advice I give my students:

●Accept the fact that you are not going to understand everything.

●Stay relaxed when you do not understand, and try listening to the material for more times.

     ● Do not translate everything into your native language.

●4. Don't concentrate on details before you have understood the main ideas.

     ● Listen to something you enjoy.

I remember the problems I had in understanding spoken German when I first went to Germany. In the

beginning, when I didn't understand a word, I insisted on translating it in my mind. This method usually resulted in confusion.5.Firstly, translating creates a barrier(障碍) between the listener and the speaker. Secondly, most people repeat themselves constantly. By remaining calm, I noticed that even if I didn't pay much attention I could usually understand what the speaker had said.

A. But you can't follow a native English speaker at all!

B. What should you do?

C. But listening is a problem for most of the beginners!

D. However, after several weeks, I got used to the new environment in Germany.

E. So, what you need to do is to find listening resources.

F. Then, after the first six months, I discovered two extremely important facts.

G. Listen for the general idea of the conversation.

Bad teeth may be painful and it’s getting worse without treatment. They can even ruin your life. Illness of the teeth can find its way into the blood system. This can increase the chances of a heart disease or other illnesses.

Experts say good care for teeth should start at birth. Mothers’ milk is the best food for the healthy development of teeth.

But dentists say a baby’s mouth and early teeth should be cleaned after each feeding. Use a cloth with a little warm water. Do the same if a baby is fed with a bottle. Experts say if you decide to put your baby to sleep with a bottle, give him only water.

When baby’s teeth begin to appear, you can clean them with a wet toothbrush. Dentists say it is important to find soft toothbrushes made especially for babies and to use them very gently. Young children often eat toothpaste (牙膏) when they brush, so they should be carefully watched when they brush their teeth.

Parents often ask what effect thumb sucking (咬手指) might have on their baby’s teeth. Experts generally agree that this is fine early in life. Most children stop sucking their thumbs by the age of four. If it continues, parents should talk to their children’s dentist or doctor.
