Changes are hard for many people to accept. However, what’s worth keeping in mind is that life is constantly changing. We might lose our jobs, lose our loved ones, or have other life-changing things, but these changes are just part of life. We might not like how society is changing or how our community is changing, but we need to be able to deal with these changes in a positive way. Luckily, there are many ways to view changes, to deal with them and to finally accept them.

To deal with changes wisely, you should accept that feeling when a type of change is upsetting you. There’s no way you’ll get past it if you ignore it and don’t work through it. Thus, if you’ve lost your job, let yourself feel mad and/or disappointed. You can even express your feelings to others, but do so in a polite way. Also you can ask yourself, “Why am I upset or worried about this change?” Then, “What is it that I believe will happen, as a result of this change?” And then, “Are these thoughts and beliefs correct and practical?” Going through these questions can help you determine if the change is really worth worrying about. What’s more, even though the change can have a negative effect on your life, in most situations you can use it to turn a loss into an opportunity or a way to rediscover your enthusiasm for life.

Of course, when it comes to dealing with changes, taking action is more important. If you’re going through a period in your life when the change is negatively influencing you, make yourself busy. Making yourself busy, by working, producing something or engaging socially with others, will do more than just make you forget worries–it’ll help you contribute to changing your life positively for the future. Besides, you can try something you’ve never done before.

An important part of accepting changes is finding a way to move on and thinking about your future. By looking ahead, you’ll be able to better deal with the past and accept it as that had to happen in order to move forward. So accept the change that makes you uncomfortable, and determine you're going to try to use your energies to make an even better world. In this way, you’re using it to power what you think is a positive change.

Weekend gym rats might be onto something. Weekend warriors, who put recommended amounts of exercise into one or two gym sessions(时段), experience similar health benefits to those who work out several times a week, according to a new study. And those benefits include a longer life. “It is encouraging news that working out in just one or two days per week is connected to a lower risk of demise, even among people who do some activities but don’t quite meet recommended exercise levels,” the lead researcher Emmanuel Stamatakis says in a statement.

The World Health Organization recommends that adults perform two and a half hours of moderate-intensity(中等强度的)physical exercise, or an hour and 25 minutes of more energetic exercise per week. Usually this is done within several days, with experts suggesting that adults get up to 30 minutes of regular exercise each day. However, the new study suggests that busy people may be able to meet the standards when they have more free time, such as at weekends, and stay healthy all the same.

Researchers studied data from more than 63,000 men and women in England and Scotland, including data about their activity habits and risks for death. The researchers put each individual in one of four groups: those who described themselves as inactive, those who exercised but less than what was recommended, those who exercised in the “weekend warrior” style, and those who worked out regularly more than three days a week.

Adults who exercised in the “weekend warrior” style had a 40 percent lower risk of cardiovascular(心血管的)disease and a 30 percent lower risk of death by any cause than those who did not exercise at all. The lower risks of cardiovascular disease and overall death were similar to the risks of people who worked out regularly over the week.

But take a pause before you give up your weekday gym habit. Just a couple of light sessions won’t be enough to get benefits: “Weekend warrior” exercise sessions are usually 75-minute energetic workouts, according to the study.

The results are promising overall, if you just simply can't fit physical activities into most days. The key here is that exercise is truly a lifeline(救生索): It reduces your risk of illnesses like heart disease, diabetes, cancer and depression, according to the WHO. So, if you are just too busy on weekdays, let go of the guilt(内疚). Just make sure to hit the gym hard at weekends.

A. Focus on moderate-intensity physical exercise.

B. Exercise to meet different physical activity standards.

3.What can we learn from the study?

A. We should let go of our guilt.

B. Short but hard workouts help as well.

C. It’s harmful to live a too busy life.

D. We’d better do our best to stay healthy.

4.After reading the passage, we can say that people should ________.

A. stop feeling bad about only exercising at weekends

When I was twenty years old, my grandmother invited me to Europe for two weeks. I had never been to foreign countries before, so I was especially excited about the trip. When I told one of my professors about the trip, he suggested, “Keep a journal(日记).” More than ten years later, I am so thankful for his suggestion, as I can look back on this first trip to Europe through my journal.

Keeping a travel journal is very simple. Bring a journal with you during your vacation and write down the things that interest you. Interestingly, what appeals to you may not be the tourist attractions but some small things, such as something in your hotel room, and a talk you hear by chance. Your journal is the best thing you can bring back from a vacation.

It is a great idea to choose a good journal style that you like. Whether it is lined or unlined paper, pick up a journal that feels good in your hands. The size of your journal is also important. Some people feel that a travel journal should be small and easy to carry, while others prefer a larger-sized journal. My journal has always been about 8×11 inches. I haven’t found any real problems with carrying it. It fits well into a backpack. A good tip is to get some type of waterproof(防水的)cover for your journal. You never know when something in your bag may leak(渗漏), or it may start to rain, which can just ruin your journal.

In addition, consider carrying some plastic bags to bring back some pictures and postcards so that you can put them in your journal. You will probably find some things during the day that you want to attach to your journal at night in your hotel.

Always carry something to write with when you have your journal. Consider carrying a variety of pens, markers, or pencils so as to make your journal look more beautiful. Even if you are not very good at drawing, a journal has a way of freeing your creative juices. You will find yourself quickly drawing things or writing poems at the sides of the pages in your journal.

Tourist maps are also a wonderful thing to consider adding to your journal because they show where you have been. You can add parts of the map to show where you have been that day and then another part on another day to show where you have been the following day.

Bring a tube of glue to stick postcards and pictures to your journal. You can cut the pictures and postcards into the shapes you like so that you can make your journal look more beautiful. Keep these things handy in a plastic bag so that you can find them easily.

There are so many things you can consider writing in your journal, such as the sights you have seen that day, a meal you have had, a person you have seen in a museum, a cafe that has caught your attention, your feelings about your trip or about the hotel you have stayed in, and a list of the things you also wish to do during your vacation. These are all the small details that do make up your trip.

A. he has got into the habit of keeping a travel journal

B. he had a good time with her grandmother in Europe

C. he has learned a lot about how to keep a travel journal

D. he can think of his first trip to Europe with the journal

2.What does the third paragraph mainly tell us?

A. What kind of journal style to choose.

B. What size of journal to pick up.

C. Why to take a journal while travelling.

D. How to protect the journal against damage.

3.What’s the author’s purpose in writing this passage?

A. To suggest what to write in a travel journal.

B. To give some tips on keeping a travel journal.

C. To show what we should bring while taking a trip.

D. To explain why keeping a travel journal is important

4.This passage is mainly written for ________.

A. those interested in writing

B. those researching on tourism
