Do you enjoy your work? Maybe you do or ...

Do you enjoy your work? Maybe you do or maybe you don't. Chances are that you fall somewhere in the middle: you have good days and bad days, and you could definitely be happier than you currently are.1.

Be Friendly to Your Colleagues

In some big offices, people might not even say “good morning” to one another. 2.. You might think that you have nothing in common with them, but if you strike up a conversation, you may well find that they share some of your interests, hopes or ambitions.

Focus on How You're Helping Clients

Some jobs are pretty tiresome — there's no way round that. Whatever you're doing, though, you're helping someone.

Perhaps you work in McDonalds, helping customers who want a cheap, quick meal. Perhaps you do data entry, helping a big company to get their records organized so that they can take better care of their clients. In most jobsyou've got the potential to make someone else's day that bit better.3.

Do Your Hardest Task First

Have you ever put off a difficult phone call or a highpressure task for days and days, only to find it appears larger and larger in your mind? I've read a lot of productivity advice over the past few years, and something that almost all experts seem to agree on is that it's a good idea to get tough tasks out of the way as quickly as possible.4.Plus, you'll constantly have that task hanging over you and dragging your mood down.

5.

Try eating at regular intervals — and go for healthy, tasty foods which make you feel energized rather than sluggish. Fresh fruit is a great snack option, or you can have dried fruit, nuts and/or seeds. Don't forget to drink enough water, too.

These are all little, but significant, ways to be happier at work today. Put them into practice and you will feel inspired!

AEat Sensibly and Regularly

BEat Outside during Your Lunch Break

CHere are several ways to be happier at work

DThe longer you wait, the more resistant you will feel

EDoing that will almost certainly put a smile on your face

FIt costs nothing to be polite and friendly to your colleagues

GLook for some small items to bring a bit of happiness into your day

A year ago, my friend and I went to a nearby town to attend a wedding. After the reception, we were waiting for a public transport bus to go back home. It was nine o’clock at night, and although many buses passed, none stopped.

We waited for an hour and were getting forlorn. We wouldn’t be able to stay overnight because it was weekday, and we both needed to work the next day. It was almost 10 p.m. when a family who had attended the same wedding passed by in their car. Probably sensing that we were waiting for some means of transport, they stopped and gave us a lift.

I was so touched by their kindness, and I expressed my thanks to them. When we reached my hometown, the family dropped us at the nearest point from where we could catch a shared taxi to get back to the spot where we had parked our bike. On the way, a laborer stopped the taxi. The driver saw his clothes and asked him whether he had money to pay the fare.

The laborer shook his head and said, “No.” On hearing this, the driver refused to take him. I remembered my own dilemma a few minutes earlier, and I told the driver to allow him to sit with us, as I would pay his fare. What an immediate opportunity to pass on the family’s act of kindness!

That night, I felt lightness in my heart, and I went to sleep happily and filled with joy about what I had gotten to do. How I wish this chain of kindness could continue all over the world with your help! That is why today I specially share my story with you again!
