Welcome to the Science Museum. It is a seven floor giant's toy box. Children of every age find it amazed on seeing its exhibits whose subjects cover art, energy, environment, medicine, biology, space and transport. Entry is through the Energy Hall on the ground floor which has full size rockets, satellites and airplanes on the roof and cars on the walls. The first steam engine, Stephenson's Rocket, stands on the first floor amongst other exhibits. The exhibits are educational and many are interactive - there are plenty of buttons to push, levers to pull with sometimes explosive effects. The whole experience is inspiring and exciting. The Science Museum is open every day (except 24-26 December) and entry is free. Charges may apply to the IMAX Cinema and some special exhibitions. Its opening hours are 10:00 to 18:00 daily. It often opens an hour later in school holidays. Its address is Exhibition Rd SW7 2DD and it is 9 minute walk from the nearest underground station, South Kensington.
