Good evening, everyone. In today’s program, I’d like to tell you something about Leonor Varela.

Leonor Varela was born on December 29, 1972 om Santiago de Chile, Chile. Her family fled to Costa Rica when she was little. On the following years they lived in Germany, USA, and France, where Varela studied.

In the 1990s she appeared in the Chilean soap Tic Tac (1997), and in other French and European productions like Pony Trek (1995) and A Legend to Ride (1997). Her career in Hollywood began in 1998, when she joined the cast of The Man in the Iron Mask (1998) when she starred opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, and she appeared in Jeremiah (1998), a film directed by Patrick Dempsey. The following year (1999), she played the title character in the ABC TV movie Cleopatra (1999) (TV) opposite her future fiancé Billy Zane and Timothy Dalton.

Many fans love her performance in the movie Adela in America (2005) the most. But she has appeared in various other famous movies such as GoalⅡ: Living the Dream (2007), and Where God Left His Shoes (2007).

Leonor Varela is already in her early fifties now. But she still has many fans around the world.
