Dr. Reyes Guana says the best part of his day is getting to know students and encouraging education. He is a man of success.

His childhood was very difficult. His family moved from Mexico. His parents always had two jobs. On the weekends, the whole family went to the fields to work. He and his brothers had to stay in the car when they were very young. As they got bigger, they worked too.

He worked for three schools in Lodi, California. He cleaned the schools to earn the money to pay for the first two years of college. Being a cleaner at a school made him think about how to show respect for everyone in an organization. Then he moved up the ranks, starting as campus safety officer, then becoming a teacher, an assistant headmaster and now the leader of a school district.

Now, even though he has had a successful career, he never forgets where he came from, or those who encouraged him in his early days. He uses his life experience to guide him as a leader.
