In the modern world, art and science are two very separate activities, but in Leonardo’s time they were closely connected. China’s 40-year-long process of reform and opening up meant foreign influences gaining a foothold(一席之地) in the country. Chinese music, too, is walking through the open door that once was a one-way street. Melody C2E is a student club at the Shanghai International Studies University.
