The Internet has become part of teenager’s life. There’s a report on 3375 students aged from 10 to 18 in seven Chinese cities. It says that 38 percent of them believe they use the Internet often. While most of them get useful information and use the Internet to help in their studies, some are not using it in a good way. Many are playing online games too much. A few even visit Web sites they should not look at. Bad things can happen if young people spend too much time on the Internet.
In order to help young people use the Internet in a good way, a textbook on good Internet behavior has started to be used in some Shanghai middle schools this term. It uses real examples to teach students all about good ways of using the Internet. It gives useful advice such as it’s good to read news or find helpful information to study. Some students also make online friends. But if you are meeting a friend online, let your parents know.
Teachers and parents all think the book is a very good idea. It will teach students how to be a good person in the online world. It will be a guide for teens to use the Internet and keep students away from the bad sites.

An old man lived alone in Minnesota. He wanted to spade(铲) his potato garden, but it was hard work. His only son, who would have helped him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his situation:
Dear son, I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my potato garden this year. I hate to miss doing the garden, because your mother always loved planting time. I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my trouble would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me, if you were not in prison.
Love, Dad
Shortly, the old man received this telegram:
“For Heaven’s sake, Dad, don’t dig up the garden!! That’s where I buried the GUNS!!”
At 4 am the next morning, a dozen FBI agents and local police officers showed up and dug up the entire garden without finding any guns.
Confused, the old man wrote another note to his son telling him what had happened, and asked him what to do next.
His son’s reply was :“Go ahead and plant your potatoes, Dad. It’s the best I could do for you from here.”
No matter where you are in the world, if you have decided to do something deep from your heart, there is nothing that can stop you from doing it. It is the thought that matters , not where you are or who you are.

I was punished once while I was at school. That was only because I forced to do something I didn't want to do it. I got punished because of the boy, who I was really frightened for. One day, he told me he will be sitting behind me. I was asked to move my paper so that he could read that I'd written. I did as he said, but we were all caught cheating. I had to write a composition about honest. Learning what had happened, my head teacher criticized me or encouraged me to be trustworthy. I can hard forget the experience.
Now at some level, all moms and dads know they shouldn't yell at kids. But if you don't _______or talk angrily, how do you discipline(管教)?
For thousands of years, the Inuit have _______ an ancient tool: storytelling. Instead of _______, “Don't go near the water!” Inuit parents take a unique _______ and tell kids a special story about what's inside the water. _______, those stories seemed to me too scary for little children. And my initial reaction was to _______ them. But my opinion changed after I watched my own daughter's response to ________ tales——and after I learned more about humanity’s complex relationship with storytelling.
Oral storytelling is what's known as a human ________. For tens of thousands of years, it has been a key way that parents teach children about values and how to ________. Modern hunter-gatherer groups use ________ to teach sharing, respect for others and conflict avoidance. With the Agta, a hunter-gatherer population of the Philippines’ good storytelling skills are ________ more than hunting skills or medicinal knowledge.
Today many parents outsource their oral storytelling to screens, which also ________ . We learn best through things that are ________ to us. And stories, by their ________ , can have lots of things in them that are much more interesting in a way that bare ________ don't. Stories with a dash of danger ________ kids like magnets (磁石).
