Look at this picture. It’s the celebration of the Great American Beer Festival. It is not the oldest celebration of beer in the United States, and it might not be the cheapest, but it is by far the biggest. Every year, tens of thousands of beer lovers come to Denver, Colorado to try beers made all over the country.

This year, about 600 different companies are offering over four thousand different beers. These companies are mostly small restaurants or beer factories that produce only a few hundred barrels of beer annually. You won’t find any of the big international brands there, but you will find beers with names like Long Day, Sticky Fingers, and Mango Shot. The festival lasts three days, and there are beer competitions in fifty different categories. And what goes better with good beer than cheese?
