More and more students want to study in “hot” majors. As a result, many students give up their interests and study in those areas such as foreign languages, international business and law, etc. Fewer and fewer students choose scientific majors, such as math, physics and biology, and art majors, like history, Chinese and philosophy. Only a few students can study in these “hot” majors, because the number of these “hot” majors is limited(有限的).

If one has no interest in his work or study, how can he do well? I learned this from one of my classmates. He is from the countryside. His parents are farmers. Though he likes biology, he chose international business. He wants to live a life which is different from that of his parents.

In the end, he found he was not interested in doing business. He found all the subjects tiresome. Maybe this wouldn’t have happened if he had chosen his major according to his own interest. Choosing a major in university does not decide one’s whole life. Majors which are not “hot” today may become the “hot” majors of tomorrow. Choosing your major according to your own interest is the best way to succeed.

根据短文内容,按要求完成各题

1.According to the text, what are the “hot” majors today?

2.Why can’t many students study in the “hot” majors?

3.How can people do their work and study well?

4.According to the writer, if you want to succeed what should you do?

5.Does the writer think that people should give up their own interest in order to choose the “hot” majors?
