She was a typical procrastinator(拖拉的人) in our teachers' eyes. However, I wondered how she tried to make gradual progress. Once, I asked her, “How do you improve your grades even without handing in homework on time？” She answered, “Handing in homework late doesn't mean that I don't study. I just review and learn first, then do my homework.”
So I suddenly realized that she wasn't procrastinating, but taking her time to think. When reviewing, she was looking for her weaknesses and then strengthening them.
When we learn a new thing, we remember it best. Then we gradually forget it. A few days later, we may only be able to recall only a bit of it, or even nothing at all. Reviewing helps us better learn new knowledge. It helps us turn shortterm memories into longterm memories.
On normal school days, when students don't have to prepare for big exams, they should review their work and learn from their mistakes. Once when it gets close to exams, it's always wise to start preparing for them.
