With bushfires continuing to swallow different parts of Australia, a local zoo in New South Wales - the state which is the easiest to catch fire - has hit the headlines with a heartwarming story.

Right in the line of a bushfire, the keepers of Mogo Wildlife Park managed to protect all 200 animals from harm after they received evacuation orders, according to reports.

Netizens were quick to react on social media and praised the bravery of the zoo keeper and staffs, as they stayed and managed to protect animals from uncontrolled fires and even sheltered some at their own house.

The 40-year-old zoo keeper, Chad Staples, described the situation as the worst catastrophe, which felt like Armageddon (大决战) here. Luckily, his team had made a precise plan ahead of time by moving everything flammable from the area and the larger animals to safe places.

What’s remarkable is that as the smaller ones needed extra shelter, Staples decided to take them to his own house.

“Right now in my house there are animals of all descriptions in all the different rooms. They are safe and protected … not a single animal lost,” he said.

BBC news also mentioned that “there’s a tiger to the back of the house.”

Some media outlets highlighted the “heroic job” in their headlines. Online users also reacted with thumbs-up and were glad to see all the staff and animals coming through the horrific fire.

Located in the southern coast of New South Wales, Mogo Wildlife Park houses Australia’s largest collection of primates, also including different and unique animals such as zebras, giraffes, rhinos and red pandas.

Last Saturday, my friends and me went to climb the West Mountain. While climb, we enjoyed the sunny weather and a beautiful view. We were very delighted reach the top without much time or effort. Therefore, we found it more difficult to go down, so we went slowly but helped each other when necessary. Though I took care a lot, unfortunately I slip and hurt my leg badly. As the result, I could hardly stand up. One of my friend came to me immediately and carried me on the back till we reached for the foot of the mountain. I was very thankful and felt proudly of having such good friends.

Friday and Saturday were full of surprises for Chinese, as two places in China were listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. The first, a World Natural Heritage, is composed of a series of migratory bird sanctuaries(候鸟保护地)along the coast of the Yellow Sea in Yancheng, East China's Jiangsu Province. The second, the Liangzhu Archaeological Site in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province, was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site.

China began the application process for the bird sanctuaries in 2017. It only took two years to successfully complete the process. The reason the migratory bird sanctuary application was successful is because of the special geographical category of the area. It is the largest intertidal mudflat seashore in the world. The success of this application marks the beginning of China's world natural heritage from land to sea. The migratory bird sanctuaries are the central node of the East Asian-Australasian Flyway and many endangered species, especially threatened migratory birds including red- crowned cranes and flamingos, go there to hunt for food during the migration season. The birds usually take a month to finish their migration. At about 10 days into their migration, they must stop and find food in order to have the energy to continue their journey.

Compared to the short turnaround for the World Natural Heritage's application, the Liangzhu application was far more complicated. The application team spent six years making their dream a reality. A lot of archaeological work had to be carried out for the Liangzhu site, which means the application and assessment(评定)process takes a longer time. The site in Liangzhu is evidence of the existence of an early regional state in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River during the late Neolithic period in China, which helps fill in the gaps in the history of the rice-cultivating civilizations of China and East Asia more than 5000 years ago. The site was one of the 20th century's most important archaeological discoveries in China.

With these two new additions, China now has 55 World Heritage sites, the highest number in the world. The successful application means greater responsibility and obligations(义务). Protecting these places is much more important and is our future work. The new status of the migratory bird sanctuaries might boost local tourism industries but this too poses a challenge as local governments will need to control tourist volume so as not to impact the birds' migration patterns. Meanwhile, the sheer area that the Liangzhu Archaeological Site covers, some 14.3 square kilometers, makes protection a difficult issue to handle. Those workings at the site are busy constructing protective shelters for the site and even reburying certain areas to protect them from exposure. Plans are also underway to build a local museum for the storage and display of artifacts, so visitors can come and learn more about the history of the nation.

1.What is special about the migratory bird sanctuaries?

A.It's the first China's world natural heritage on the sea.

B.It provides safe habitats for endangered species.

C.It's located along the coast of the Yellow River.

D.It supplies abundant fresh water to migratory birds.

2.According to Paragraph 2, how do migratory bird sanctuaries protect birds?

A.By creating warm places to produce baby birds.

B.By preventing them from being killed by hunters.

C.By providing food supplies during their migration.

D.By curing the endangered birds after their journey.

3.Why is Liangzhu chosen for the world heritage site?

A.It shows the long history of China.

B.It proves the wisdom of the people.

C.It witnesses the civilization of an age.

D.It reveals the food of the late Neolithic.

4.What is the last paragraph mainly talking about?

A.The application success's promotion of tourism.

B.Chinese responsibilities after the successful application.

C.The two places' influence on Chinese history.

D.Chinese challenge of protecting birds' migration.

Few people can resist the lure (诱惑) of a delicious ice cream, especially on a hot day. The only thing that spoils the fun is that the treat is hard to enjoy slowly, often ending up with a sticky melted mess. Now, researchers from Colombia's Pontificia Bolivariana University may have found an unlikely partner to help solve this age-old problem---cellulose fiber(纤维素) extracted from banana plant waste. Bananas, as you probably know, grow in bunches on a tree-like plant. Each bunch is attached to a central stalk, called a rachis(叶轴), which is thrown once the fruit has been harvested. The team, led by Dr. Robin Zuluaga Gallego, began extracting cellulose nanofibrils (CNFS) from powdered rachis. The tasteless, odorless macro fibers, thousands of times smaller than the width of a human hair were then added in various concentrations to 100 grams of ice cream mix.

With the right amount of CNFS mixed in, the dessert lasted longer in its frozen state than conventional ice cream, extending both its shelf life and the amount of time the treat can be enjoyed. Even more exciting was that the fibers increased the stickiness of low-fat ice cream to levels higher than the full-fat one. Since this is what determines the frozen treats’ creaminess and texture, CNFS could help create healthier ice cream without compromising on taste.

The researchers, who presented their findings at the American Chemical Society (ACS) meeting in New Orleans on March 21, 2018, next plan to investigate how different types of fat, such as coconut oil, affect the behavior of CNFS in other frozen treats.

The Colombian researchers are not the only one working on creating a slower-melting ice cream. In 2015, scientists at the University of Dundee in Scotland found that a naturally occurring protein called BSIA(Bacterial Surface Layer A) was remarkably effective in keeping the treat frozen for longer periods of time. With both teams competing to be the first to get to market, the future of everyone’s favorite dessert certainly looks promising.

1.What prevents people enjoying an ice cream slowly?

A.The hot weather.

B.A kind of fiber from banana.

C.The ice creams’ stickiness.

D.The ice creams’ quick melting.

2.Which is NOT a benefit of CNFS added to ice cream mix?

A.To improve its flavor.

B.To make it more healthy.

C.To reduce its fat content.

D.To make it melt more slowly.

3.What can be inferred from the last paragraph?

A.CNFS are more useful and effective than BSLA.

B.Ice cream with BSLA has been on sale at the market.

C.Slowly enjoying an ice cream will soon become a reality.

D.The Colombian research team has taken the lead in the competition with the Scottish team.

4.What's the author’s attitude towards the finding of CNFS?

A.Positive B.Casual

C.Defensive D.Suspicious.

When David Carter started to study art at The University of Texas (UT)at Austin in 1971, he had big dreams of becoming an artist or a writer. But his study came to a stop at 23 after he hurt his hand in an unpleasant event. He developed schizophrenia(精神分裂症) later and spent many years without a home.

Carter liked to spend time around UT, because he dreamt of being able to continue his study in the university and becoming a writer. After running into Carter many times, UT student Ryan Chandler decided to interview him for a project for the Daily Texan, the student newspaper of UT.

A lot of kids struggle with reading. Parents have tried encouraging them in all sorts of ways, but nothing seems to work. Actually many factors(因素)can cause reading problems.1. Here are a few things you can do to help your kid become a better reader.

Read to your kid-and have him/her read to you

Grab one of the books you loved when you were your kid's age and read it to him/her or take turns reading it to each other. 2. Make reading a regular part of the night-time routine.

Don't be pushy

Just because you're a science fan or read on history and other nonfiction doesn't mean your kid will be remotely interested in any of those things. In fact, you've been pushing your tastes on your kid. 3.

Choose books that interest your kid

Most kids love movies. Did your kid like Ready Player One or Ender's Game? They are based on books. 4. If your goal is to get your kid interested in reading and improve his/her skills, what your kid's reading is less important than how much time he/she spends doing it.

5.

Kids who have trouble reading often feel that there's something wrong with them. So work with your kid to come up with manageable goals and make a big deal every time he/she accomplishes one. With time, gradually make the goals more challenging.

A.Achieve your goals

B.Celebrate small steps

C.Reading books can help your kid get a head start in school.

D.If your kid stops or makes a mistake, be patient and don't judge.

E.Overcoming them can sometimes be an annoying process for everyone.

F.Starting with something your kid is already interested in could help draw him into reading.

G.You may have contributed to his/her reading problems rather than helping overcoming them.

In 2006, documents were published by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA). They suggested that cloned animals and cloned animal products would be allowed into the American food supply.

The FDA has stated that cloned animal products are safe for consumption, and has performed many studies to support this view. In fact, products from cloned animals have already been eaten by some Americans without ill effects. The FDA analyzed the structure(结构)and content of cloned animal products and compared it with that of traditionally reproduced animals, and discovered no statistical difference between the two.

Consumers raised serious concerns about cloned animals. The first is the question of whether or not cloned tissue and animal products are truly safe. The second is that many clones are also genetically modified(转基因的)animals, which the FDA has said are unsafe for human consumption. The third is that consumers want to be able to choose what they put into their bodies.

The first concern about cloned animals is almost unnecessary due to the price of producing a clone. Making a clone needs hard work and is very costly. These clones live spoiled lives because they are very valuable, despite biologists' warning that cloned animals decrease diversity.

The second concern, about genetic modification of cloned animals, is more problematic. It may be very difficult to separate genetically modified animals from normal ones. The purpose of genetically modified cloned animals is unclear, and the FDA hasn't allowed their products onto the market, due to health concerns, but the risk of genetic pollution of healthy animals still exists.

Finally, the matter of choice is a large one. Many animal rights activists are worried about clone rights because cloned or not, the animals still have lives. Other consumers are simply trying to eat healthy foods, and have doubts about the cloned animals. If the FDA does not make labeling (贴标签)laws, people may not be able to make informed choices about their food.

1.Why did the FDA allow cloned animal products for consumption?

A.They appeal to consumers very much.

B.They differ from traditional animal products.

C.They taste better than normal animal products.

D.They have been proved safe in several aspects.

2.What do we know about producing clones of animals?

A.It takes much more efforts and money. B.It provides some new medical benefits.

C.It needs less time than raising animals. D.It helps increase the diversity of animals.

3.What can be inferred from the last paragraph?

A.Cloned animals should be forbidden to enter market.

B.Cloned animals should have the same rights as humans.

C.Laws should be made to protect people's right to choose food.

D.Animal rights activists are strongly against cloned animal products.

4.What's the text mainly about?

A.Doubts about cloned animals rights. B.Discussions about how to clone animals.

C.Concerns about animal cloning technology. D.Worries about cloned animal consumption.

If you've started thinking about your career(职业), you'll probably have noticed that there are certain jobs you're just not supposed to do if you're a girl. However, a lot is happening today to get women into male—dominated(男性主导的)areas of work. This International Women's Day, we look at three areas of work where things are tough for women right now-but where change is happening.

Science and research

The situation today

Have you heard of STEM? STEM means science, technology, engineering and maths. It covers a whole range of jobs, from scientists who research cures for diseases, to engineers who design things like buildings, roads and bridges. These jobs are highly skilled. But of every eight people in a STEM job, only one is a woman.

Why we need more women in science

The lack of women in STEM jobs is becoming a national problem. The government is worried there simply won't be enough scientists and engineers in the future. This could affect the whole economy because, as a country, we can sell our technology and skills to other countries. STEM jobs also create more work further down the line, such as for construction workers who build roads and bridge.

The police

The situation today

In March 2015, the percentage of female police officers stood at 28%. This compares with 22% nine years earlier in 2006. And the percentage has not always risen over this period. In fact, it peaked(顶峰)in 2010 before falling, before flatlining over the next three years.

Why we need more women in the police force

The police are there for the whole community and that includes women! Because crime is often to do with sex, or violence by men against women, a woman police officer might be more understanding or more approachable. Studies also suggest that women tend to trust other women more than men. Women can also be more understanding. Often, when a person comes forward to report an incident, such as a problem at home or with neighbours, women are often better at listening and at understanding other people's problems, while men are more likely to be dismissive.

1.What do we learn about women in Paragraph 1?

A.They are hard to find jobs. B.They have a wider choice of jobs.

C.They change jobs at times. D.They act better in doing man's jobs.

2.What could be the consequence of the lack of women in science?

A.It creates more jobs.

B.It leads to national chaos.

C.It influences the economic development.

D.It brings about the technological revolution.

3.What can be inferred from the studies on female police?

A.Male police are not so trustworthy as female police.

B.Female police hardly care about common incidents.

C.Female police officers are easier to communicate with.

D.The percentage of female police is always on the increase.

4.What is most likely to be discussed following the last paragraph?

A.Occupation guidance. B.Women's advantages.

C.Man-dominated careers. D.Another area of work.

No matter how long it took, or how much birthday money he would have to save, the 6-year-old South Carolina boy named Bell would spend his special day in "The Happiest Place On Earth."

And, as local TV station reports, he was pretty close to realizing that dream, planning for a visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom just in time for his seventh birthday this month.

Then he heard the story of the hurricane: how it transformed the Bahamas into the unhappiest place on Earth—and how it continues to churn up(搅动)the East Coast, leaving tears in its wake.

How could Bell dream of Disney World when so many others were living a nightmare?

So the boy gathered his savings—and went to the grocery store. Instead of a romp(嬉闹)in Disney's Animal Kingdom, Bell bought much-needed food and water for thousands of people forced to leave their homes in advance of the storm.

“The people that are traveling to go to places, I wanted them to have some food to eat, so they can enjoy the ride to the place that they're going to stay at,” Bell told a reporter. Indeed, Bell made it hard for anyone to miss his offer. He pulled a couple of homemade signs to Highway 125 in Allendale with the words "Free hot dogs and water" on them. And he stood at the side of that highway, calling out to motorists, many of them tired and traumatized after leaving their homes behind. In all, he served more than 100 evacuees(被撤离者).

"I am very proud," his grandmother Aretha Grant told CNN. "We knew Bell was very special, but we didn't know he was special in this way, to be such a giver like this."

Indeed, at his little stand in Allendale, Bell is giving people something much more precious than hot dogs. He's offering hope—and along the way, the little boy with the big heart is making his own magic kingdom.

1.What can we learn about Bell at the beginning of the story?

A.He quit his birthday plan. B.He visited the Bahamas.

C.He played happily at Disneyland. D.He experienced the hurricane.

2.How did Bell help the victims of hurricane?

A.By donating money. B.By offering food.

C.By providing shelters. D.By making campaigns.

3.What does the underlined word “traumatized” probably mean?

A.In great relief. B.In great sorrow.

C.With great appreciation. D.With great caution.

4.What does the writer intend to tell us in the last paragraph?

A.Bell's act makes a big difference.

B.Hot dogs are more precious than hope.

C.People should have a lifelong ambition.

D.Children are full of imagination and creativity.

1.What is Alan Chen?

A.A news editor. B.A magazine reader.

C.A radio host. D.A retired teacher.

A.Widely use plastic bags. B.Buy food from a dispenser.

C.Purchase packaged food. D.Avoid shopping at a grocery.

3.Why do Alan and Alice write the texts?

A.To advertise a magazine. B.To give tips on writing articles.

C.To subscribe to a magazine. D.To offer responses to the articles.

Christmas Day was coming. I was just a kid then, and my big sister told me there was no Santa Claus. I fled to my Grandma because she would be straight with me. I knew Grandma always told me the truth. Grandma was home, and I told her everything. She was ready for me. “No Santa Claus !” She shouted. “Ridiculous! Don't believe it.” That rumor has been going around for years, and it makes me mad, plain mad.

“Now, put on your coat, and let's go.”

“Go where, Grandma?” I asked. “Where” turned out to be Kerby's General Store, the one store in town that had a little bit of just about everything. As we walked through its doors, Grandma handed me ten dollars. “Take this money.” she said, “and buy something for someone who needs it. I'll wait for you in the car.” Then she turned and walked out of Kerby's.

I was only eight years old. I'd often gone shopping with my mother, but never had I shopped for anything all by myself. The store seemed big and crowded, full of people competing to finish their Christmas shopping. For a few moments I just stood there, confused, holding that tendollar bill, wondering what to buy and who to buy it for. I suddenly thought of Bobby Decker, who was a kid with bad breath and messy hair. He sat right behind me in Mrs Pollock's gradetwo class.

Bobby Decker didn't have a coat. I knew that because he never went out for recess during the winter. His mother always wrote a note, telling the teacher that he had a cough, but we kids knew that Bobby Decker didn't have a cough, and he didn't have a coat. I would buy Bobby Decker a coat! I settled on a red one, which looked really warm, and he would like that.

“Is this a Christmas present for someone?” the lady behind the counter asked kindly, as I laid my ten dollars down. “Yes.”

The nice lady smiled at me, put the coat in a bag and wished me a Merry Christmas.

Para 1:

That evening, Grandma helped me wrap the coat in Christmas paper.

Para 2:

Grandma and I waited breathlessly for Bobby Decker's front door to open and finally it opened.

What do employers want from business graduates?

Prospective employers have always expected business-school graduates to possess a certain set of skills, such as strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Today, employers are looking for even moretechnical expertise paired with interpersonal and intrapersonal(内在) skills.

1. You can learn the technical skills on the job or in school, but the soft skills are more challenging to get.

2. That can make you the type of employee that companies want to hire and promote. Recent data in The Financial Times 2018 Skills Gap Study agrees that soft skills, like the ability to work well in a team, were rated as "most important" by 64 percent of respondents.

During your business-school experience, you'll have the opportunity to build these skills as you work on group projects, interact with teachers, and participate in internships(实习).When you reflect on your personal and professional lives, the people who have mastered skills like communication, listening, and cooperation are the people who stand out to you.3.

But that doesn't mean that there aren't other skills on the top of many companies' wish lists.4. The first is "combine", which is the ability to combine and deal with information from multiple sources to solve complex problems. The second is "organize", or the ability to organize information to see relationships and to solve multiple, interrelated problems. 5.

A.Market yourself as someone with soft skills.

B.And they stand out to prospective employers too.

C.So these skills in high demand have great value in the hiring market.

D.What you may not realize is the lasting impact of developing skills like leadership.

E.Soft skills like flexibility and teamwork are in high demand among employers.

F.The skills you gain while earning your MBA help prepare you for various careers.

G.The skills that employers have the most difficulty finding often have the most value in the marketplace.

It's common knowledge that the woman in Leonardo da Vinci's most famous painting seems to look back at observers, following them with her eyes no matter where they stand in the room. But this common knowledge turns out wrong.

A new study finds that the woman in the painting is actually looking out at an angle that's 15.4 degrees off to the observer's right—well outside of the range that people normally believe when they think someone is looking right at them. In other words, said the study author, Horstmann, ''She's not looking at you. '' This is somewhat ironic, because the entire phenomenon of a person's gaze (凝视) in a photograph or painting seeming to follow the viewer is called the ''Mona Lisa effect''. That effect is absolutely real, Horstmann said. If a person is illustrated or photographed looking straight ahead, even people viewing the portrait from an angle will feel they are being looked at. As long as the angle of the person’s gaze is no more than about 5 degrees off to either side, the Mona Lisa effect occurs.

Horstmann and his co-author were studying this effect for its application in the creation of artificial-intelligence avatars(虚拟头像) when Horstmann took a long look at the ''Mona Lisa'' and realized she wasn't looking at him. To make sure it wasn't just him, the researchers asked 24 people to view images of the ''Mona Lisa'' on a computer screen.

So why do people repeat the belief that her eyes seem to follow the viewer? Horstmann isn't sure. It's possible, he said, that people have the desire to be looked at, so they think the woman is looking straight at them. Or maybe the people who first coined the term ''Mona Lisa effect'' just thought it was a cool name.

1.What is generally believed about the woman in the painting ''Mona Lisa''?

A.She attracts the viewers to look back.

B.She seems mysterious because of her eyes.

C.She fixes her eyes on the back of the viewers.

D.She looks at the viewers wherever they stand.

2.What gaze range in a painting will cause the Mona Lisa effect?

A. B.

C. D.

3.Why was the experiment involving 24 people conducted?

A.To confirm Horstmann's belief.

B.To create artificial-intelligence avatars.

C.To calculate the angle of Mona Lisa's gaze.

D.To explain how the Mona Lisa effect can be applied.

4.What can we learn from the text?

A.Horstmann thinks it's cool to coin the term “Mona Lisa effect”.

B.The Mona Lisa effect contributes to the creation of artificial intelligence.

C.Feeling being gazed at by Mona Lisa may be caused by the desire for attention.

D.The position of the ruler in the experiment will influence the viewers' judgment.

There are billions of people on this planet, and many of us love to eat meat. Can the demand be filled in a sustainable(可持续的) and affordable way? A bunch of businessmen are not only optimistic but are working to make this happen sooner than you may think.

The environmental effects caused by meat consumption (食用)—waste, animal treatment, health problems and even the greenhouse gas effects that are potentially caused by methane gas produced by cows—have given rise to a number of startups(新兴公司)looking to develop meats in different ways.

For example, San Francisco-based Memphis Meats is developing cell-based meats in its labs without requiring any animals. Israel’s Future Meat Technologies is doing the same by producing fat and muscle cells that are being tested by chefs in Jerusalem. All of these companies use special processes to harvest cells from animals and grow them in a lab.

But don’t worry if you’re not a meat lover. Startups such as Jet Eat, which is also based in Israel, are working on food products grown in labs that are plant-based and replicate (复制) meats using natural elements while still keeping flavor, consistency and the “overall sensory experience”, according to a report on NoCamels. Jet Eat, which was founded in early 2018, aims to 3D-print their lab-grown products by 2020.

As you can imagine, there are plenty of barriers facing the industry. Educating the public is a big one. Another controversial issue is the labeling of the products.  Recently both the USDA and the Food and Drug Administration(FDA) announced that they will begin jointly controlling the new “cell-based meat” category.

Many of us have concerns about the challenges facing future generations as our global population increases and the earth’s natural resources decreases. The good news is that there are plenty of businessmen around the world—like those producing lab-grown meats—who are working to solve some of these problems and make a little money in the process. Nothing wrong with that.

1.Why do some companies begin to develop new kinds of meats?

A.To analyse the causes of air pollution.

B.To stress the importance of protecting wild animals.

C.To make people less interested in eating meat and more healthy.

D.To meet people’s demand for meat in environmentally friendly ways.

2.What’s special about the lab-grown meats of Jet Eat?

A.They cost less. B.They are plant-based.

C.They are more delicious. D.They are available on the market now.

3.Which of the following is a barrier lab-grown meat industries must deal with?

A.How to let people accept the meat. B.How to give the meat an elegant name.

C.How to produce the meat in large amounts. D.How to reduce the cost of making the meat.

4.What’s the author’s attitude towards lab-grown meats?

A.Supportive. B.Opposing. C.Ambiguous. D.Cautious.

I think about him every time I pass by a pink magnolia(木兰)tree in bloom(开花). My Irish granddaddy, tall and thin, bursting with energy and laughter, held a special place in my heart. He lived across the street with Grandma, and their home was open to us whenever we ran over to visit. We wouldn't go into their home to find him. however, we would run to the backyard where he would be working in his garden.

Flowers, vegetables—whatever he planted grew well. From early spring through late autumn, the backyard exploded with colors.

On the side of the yard grew two apple trees and a small pear tree. A high magnolia tree stood in the middle. Its shiny, dark green leaves and large pink flowers attracted the attention of all who saw it. Besides being beautiful, it was perfect for climbing, but I didn't know how to climb it!

My granddaddy wanted to teach me. He really tried. But I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get back down, or that I would get stuck high up in the tree, so I didn’t want to try.

Except that I did want to try. One early spring morning, granddaddy was standing on his porch (门廊)waiting for me when I walked outside. ''Come over here'' he said excitedly. ''The tree is blooming lollipops(棒棒糖) instead of flowers! ''

''What? '' I ran across to the backyard to see a wonderful sight. ''No pink magnolia flowers this year,'' he said sadly as he shook his head. They'll all turn brown and drop down. What a waste that will be. But this is the first year ever for our tree to bloom lollipops!”

He looked at me. ''Do you think you could climb up the tree— just to the lowest branch — and gather one or two? Then throw them down to me. I would love a lollipop!''

Paragraph 1:

I was staring in amazement. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Paragraph 2:

I climbed down and burst into the kitchen, hands tightly holding my treasures.
